I am right they can't have 3 wins over one loss teams because they are all playing one another. Also look at who these teams played to build up their resumes, no one, they aren't great teams, hell they aren't even very good teams, just good teams. It's all going to play out in the end.

I think the committee values best wins over best losses. I honestly think if all 3 of us finish 11-1 (OU, Ok State, and ND) they will go with OU for the final spot.

Yeah Baylor lost however Iowa won and they are just outside of us... Hoping Irish are in though! And the Stanford loss did hurt us a little bit.

In the end Iowa doesn't matter to us. If they go undefeated they have to knock tOSU out of the playoffs, if they don't, they still aren't in.

I think if we truly want to feel the safe, the following things must happen.

1) Florida loses to FSU and Bama loses to either Auburn or Florida which would likely give us the inside track on a playoffs spot over the SEC champ.

2) Okie State must lose a game. Root for TCU to beat Oklahoma. I think if OU goes 11-1 with wins over Baylor, Okie State, & TCU they get in ahead of us.

3) Root for all the solid teams we beat this year to win out the rest of the year. If that happens Navy would finish 11-1, USC 10-3, Pitt 9-3, and Temple 10-2.

I don't agree with Oklahoma but you've been ranting about the Big 12 all weekend so.

TEXAS will weigh them down like an anchor when comparing them to Notre Dame. Last year Baylor and TCU hadn't played Virginia Tech and beaten them soundly like Notre Dame has done to Texas.

I'm with @Irish7478 and @bksballer89 on this one. We really need Ok State and Oklahoma to lose a game. TCU needs to beat OU and OU needs to beat Ok State.

They cant go with OU. They are out when compared to ND. ND losing to the #1 team and OU losing to a team ND killed would be insane. If ND didn't play Texas then yes I can see OU over ND. In this case they have 0 shot at jumping ND. The committee some what already said Baylor and OSU were the only teams that had a shot to jump ND If they won out.

I just think at the end of all this ND will be fine.

i think that depending on the committee to put that much import on the nd texas game is very unrealistic. it was the first game of the season with our #1 qback and a lot has changed since then. OU has played/will play a tougher schedule by season's end if ou wins out they almost certainly would get the nod (especially since stanford screwed us).

Man I hope you're right. This is why a 8 team playoffs is needed IMO. A 11-1 team and 12-0 team should make the playoffs.

<shakes head> and some year when nd is around 9th you'll say "this is why a 16 team playoff is needed". a couple years ago nd would have already been out of "the big game" and no one would have argued with it.

If we go 11-1 and don't make the playoffs, it will confirm 2 things to me.

1) We need to play in a conference

2) We need to go 12-0

Not really. But we shouldn't have discussions about 11-1/12-0 teams missing the playoffs

12-0 Oklahoma State or 11-1 Oklahoma would move ahead of ND.

OK plays OSU the last game of the season, but I don't think the BIG12 has a conference championship.

ND Has no conference championship

OSU/OU has one
No they don't. If they did then I would agree with them jumping us. they would of played that extra tough game. I would like to see OSU lose just to be safe but from everything I saw and read ND is in good shape. Yes Stanford losing hurts but also OSU almost losing to a really bad team hurts them. Stanford is still a good win.

To be safe we need OSu to lose besides that we are good(if we win out).

Big 12 will not make it in. The committee has no respect for the Big 12 and that is why Iowa (who hasn't played shit) is a head of them. Iowa only belongs if they they go undefeated and wins the big 10.

I would be more worried about a undefeated Oklahoma State than a 11-1 Oklahoma. If Notre Dame wins out and either Stanford or USC win the Pac12 along with Oklahoma winning the Big 12, and Navy or Temple winning the AAC Notre Dame would be the have beaten two conference champs and smoked the only team to beat a third conference champ.

In my opinion the playoff should be the top eight teams. Just seems like the right number to me. Nothing to do with this season or Notre Dame for that matter.
