The bawstuns are acting like the Red Sox are the only team in the history of baseball to have a walkoff win.

lol @DirtDirtDirt

keon broxton called up to replace brinson
I carried Broxton for a couple weeks earlier in the year when he was still hitting and stealing. Then he turned into Joe Carter and I had to cut him.

Byron Buxton came off of the DL yesterday and immediately got a hit and a steal. He was heating up before he got hurt. He might a good pick up if he is available. He'll eventually turn to shit again, but he might be good for a couple of weeks.

I saw two titanic blasts by Joey Gallo. That was about as much fun as I could stand. His first one went 456/113.

That fucking guy. I've had him since he was a prospect in a keeper league, but I don't think I can keep him this year. If I drop him, he'll sort it all out next year, guaranteed.

It's maddening. I was able to keep him last year because he still qualified as a minor leaguer, but I don't think I can do it this year.

It's a brave new baseball world where OBP is king and no one cares about BA anymore. Gallo has a .317 OBP. That will keep him in the lineup.

Rangers had three guys in the lineup yesterday with 20+ homers, 100+ strikeouts, .222 or lower batting average. This is modern baseball.

speaking of joe carter, how overrated was he?

remembered for perhaps the greatest walkoff moment in MLB history...

his best years were 86-97...where he drove in 1281 runs...with a .777 OPS, barely over .300 OBP.

he had an .805 OPS with RISP. .780 with men on. how the hell did he drive in almost 1450?

Carter was always in the right place at the right time for RBI opportunities. Except San Diego. I don't know how he racked up RBI in San Diego. But he had sitting ducks in Cleveland and Toronto.

holy shit....so pujols has 9 RBI in his last 2 games...which is nice. .668 OPS and a .238 avg

His deal is backloaded, meaning that Pujols has more than $100 million coming to him over the next four seasons. Yikes.

If he maintains this pace, it will be the 3rd highest HR to Hits ratio for any qualified hitter. The two highest are Bonds 73 and McGwire's 70.
