Robert Murray of BaseballEssential.com reports that the Dodgers have been shopping Alex Wood to "everyone."

There had been some thought that the Dodgers would flip Wood after acquiring him from the Braves and it appears it still may happen. They have been linked to Yovani Gallardo despite having a full rotation, so it seemed like the front office was up to something. Wood is under team control through 2019, so they'd be able to get a bunch for him.

It was weird seeing the Giants linked with Hamels and Cueto. It made no sense - they have one of the most barren farms in the league. They did well to get Mike Leake for what they gave up. Mella's ceiling is probably a 3rd or 4th starter.

People always say the Giants farm system is depleted, but somehow the team brings up quality players

New York solves its left field issue by trading for Cespedes, per ESPN and multiple reports. Cespedes, a solid defender, has a .829 OPS this season, compared to Mets left fielders' .710 OPS (18th in MLB). The trade came minutes before the deadline.

Saw the Astros twice this year and they look like the real deal. Saw the Red Sox last week and they are a really bad baseball team. Sandoval & Big Papi are running out the string, Napoli is done, looks like Boegerts is just going to be an average player and Ramirez is a player they won't be able to get rid of. Betts is the only guy I'd hang onto. What a mess of a team.
