For the seven years he was there, the Yankees averaged 97 wins per season. He played 80% of their games with the above slash line. I'd be shocked if Cashman would call that a "terrible deal."

I think had the whole thing not gotten so toxic with Lackey, it would have made good sense to keep him. Especially with that league minimum option. It did get toxic, though, so I think moving him was the right decision.
