Sounds right...I think the extreme tuners get into the 4s with WRXs that probably need an overhaul every thousand miles and run on E85.
Guy I know bought a new STI and likes it, but he's about 6 inches shorter than me and has other vehicles for hauling stuff...my car has to do everything for me. Sat in a WRX in '06 and it clearly just would not have worked for me, but maybe the new ones are bigger...?

I'm hoping that maybe when I'm pushing 60 I might actually grow the fuck up and stop having to go to defensive driving classes.

I believe the stock STI's are in the high 4-seconds.

I'm 5'11", and I didn't mind the WRX for size.

You're quite right, Motor Trend has it at 4.6 secs.
I'm about 6'2" with a long neck and torso and thick legs that just get in the way...I loved the comfort of my '96 Outback and then could just not tolerate being in the the redesign a few years later. Sat in a G35X around '06 and felt like I was on a crowded subway. But, I was OK in a CRX way back when...I guess because it had no back seat at all and I could move my seat waayy back.
Actually was only barely comfortable in the Forester before the '14 redesign.

i wish this site had a mobile version.

It works great on the iPad. I don't have all the malware BS that I used to see on here. It's a little tougher on the phone because it's the full site and needs to be scaled down. I still am able to use it on the phone, but it sure is clunky.

This was why my dad always discouraged me from buying a German or Japanese car: "dang-ole parts gon be too 'spensive, mang."

I don't think that's still an issue, since most of those companies now manufacture in the US. I could be wrong.

You are fine with a Japanese car. I won't buy German again, though. I loved driving my Audi, but I sure didn't love having to bring it for service every 3 weeks. The people at Enterprise rent-a-car knew me by name. That's always a bonus.
