Also I'm scared to think of what the bullpen is going to look like in late July, early August with this high usage.

This is also a problem

Our offense is better, but not so much better that it can handle the pitching being this much worse. And if we did make the playoffs, forget it. We've proved it, good pitching beats good hitting in the playoffs.

Now, we do have one guy who you can expect to be better (Cain), one who is doing well (Bum) and one who is doing about all you could expect (Zito). But 2 lousy starters in the rotation simply doesn't get you there. It's not shatty, it's not negative, it's common sense.

They say it takes 2 months to see 'what you have'. Well we now know, and it's pretty sad.
Still a lot of baseball to be played but what is the realistic path that we take to get better? Does Timmy 'figure it out'? Does Vogelsong? I say not super likely...

Always been the A's way, trying to draw walks. OBP, Moneyball, blah blah. You can see why it makes sense.

Makes perfect sense. Take as many pitches as you count, get the PC up and with how we have been pitching right now. We just can't hit the zone

A question, as I see this a lot on this board. Do you guys really have no interest in the team your team is playing? This comes from the fact that I see only the home team lineups in posts.

Are people really only interested in the team they root for, and have no interest in the team they are playing, or who that team is trotting out that day?

Just trying to get some insight, and this was the most active thread to ask this question in.
