I am not watching...

Was Holland showing signs of tiring in the 6th? Should Boch have replaced him before he went out for the 7th?

Can't do any worse than his apparent twin.

Edit: But why would Bochy still bring him in like this? Why does he think Gearrin is the go to guy with runners on?

man this goes back to last year. hes fine with a clean inning but apparently hes the only guy on the team that is capable of getting a ground ball.

Well we know it's about to be a 5-1 game, but Gearrin will get through it without hurting his own ERA
he needs to be given clean innings.

jeez you called the 5-1 easily.

Gearrin's groundball rate his gone down each year with the Giants from 56.2 percent in 2016 (above average), 48 percent in 2017 (average) and just 40.4 percent this year (below average).

His groundball rate is the lowest in the bullpen.

Also, right on cue, 5-1. Gearrin lowers his ERA.

Gearrin is so automatic . . . in allowing baserunners to score if inherited.

And Bochy is so automatic to call on him regardless.

Gearrin has inherited 21 runners.

The next closest is Moronta with 10.

Gearrin isn't a groundball machine anymore, and he's not a huge strikeout guy. Bochy continuing to bring him in in the most tense situations is baffling.

He would be a useful mop up guy. Pitch an inning or two in a blow out. I'd go with him over Johnson.

Johnson will probably go down for Melancon.

So you're probably talking him or Moronta. I might stick with Moronta.
