Brian Wilson? Robb Nen?

No more beloved players in the last couple of decades then these two that in essence risked their own health to win.

Did anyone else hear Baggs say that Posey was Molina's protege? What a crock of shit. Molina wanted nothing to do with Posey when he was called up.

OT, but...

Talking about Cain and Posey...

Who is the last significant player who played their entire career with the Giants? I do not consider Lowry significant enough to be considered, but he may be the MOST significant in the SF era...

Bonds - Started in Pittsburgh
Mays - ended with Mets
McCovey - A's, Padres
Clark - Rangers, Cards, O's
Thompson - Indians
Williams - Indians, DBacks

???

Honestly the only name I could think of was Brian Wilson.

Speaks to how players of note simply don't stay in one place since 1974. You'd have to go back before that I think to come up with a name.

The internet says:

Those that played at least 8 seasons are 2B Robby Thompson (1986-1996), IF Jim Davenport (1958-1970), P Scott Garrelts (1982-1991), OF Marvin Benard (1995-2003), and C Mike Sadek (1973, 1975-1981).

What players played their entire career with only the SF giants

Wow.

Thompson never actually payed for Cleveland. I could have sworn he played for them. I guess I thought that because he pretty much immediately went into their front office.

Bochy.... and Pence, Pagan, Cain, Romo, Lincecum

Really?

Surprised. Not that he does not deserve it, but I am surprised he does not bow out so a player can do it...

Edit:

Ah, damn you and your edit... I was responding to "Bochy"

Yeah sorry, fooled me. Boch ended up handing it off to the guys who then climbed to the stands and took turns raising the flag.

I wonder how they chose the players...

BTW: Boch stayed in center field and watched the flag raising.

Great ceremony. Choked me up.

no Posey?

Getting his gear on, talking to his pitcher, etc. Why does he need to hand off a flag, he figures he's gonna win 4 more. Dude's old school.
