You think Boston doesn't look back and regret the Adrian Gonzalez trade?

Considering they got out from under the Crawford contract, the Beckett contract and won a championship after the trade, I can pretty much guarantee they don't regret that trade.

This.

Even if Rodriguez were to go on to beat Bonds' record, reaching the five milestones, it would total $30MM in bonus money, which is chump change to the Yankees. They saved $25MM on him last year due to the suspension.

They signed the contract and they should honor it, not act like petulant children.

Just pay the man already.

.500 Sox if lucky, just not a very good team, plain and simple. Pitching horrendous, Farrell not much of a manager, hitting is rotten right now. I think they will be very average at best this season. They had the illusion they could win with these triple A starters, the truth is showing quick. I predict 85 losses.

I know AGon has gotten off to a hot start this season, but his OPS+ results for two full seasons in LA are 125 and 129. Napoli has been at 128 and 123 for the same seasons, cost a LOT less per year, and isn't guaranteed money until the end of the decade. I do wonder if his hips are falling apart now, though.
That trade was a MIRACLE for the Bosox.

But...but...Hanley hit two HRs after his team was down by double digits last night!!!

I basically see them as a .500 team, too. But everybody in the AL East is looking like that...

I wonder if Yankees even have a leg to stand on in saying they wont pay the $6 million bonus. If they don't, they shouldn't have said it. It's in the contract, with no wording of steroid use, as far as I know. So why create drama? A-Rod is hitting, so just appreciate it.

Yep, and Yep. They should consider giving him a raise, the way he's been hitting. A true Yankee.

Competitive or do all 5 just suck?

Not just the East. AL as whole has a lot of parity. Thought the Twins would be lucky to have 4 wins by now and they are still in the mix.

You think Boston doesn't look back and regret the Adrian Gonzalez trade?

You mean the one that sent Casey Kelley and Rizzo (and someone else) to the Padres or the one that sent Agon to the Dodgers.

Rizzo and Kelly to the Padres -- maybe the sox regret that

Agon to the Dodgers -- Sox in no way regret that, why would they?

Espn rankings

1 a team that got swept over the weekend
2 a team that just lost 2 of 3
3 a team that just lost their best player
4 a team that had a 4 game losing streak last week
5 a team that went 2-4 last week including a 3 game sweep by their rivals.

for some reason, I don't trust these rankings.
