Nationals have a lot of issues for a team that looks good on paper

I haven't followed Ian Desmond's career, so this year could just be a fluke, but has anyone questioned whether he, in fact, should be playing shortstop? Maybe outfield or first base. (or get traded to the AL so he can DH).

discuss the sport of stick and ball.

yes, the indians carrasco is alive...just a bruised jaw, he got lucky.

...we'll see. I've never thought he had much mental strength, so while the physical damage might be light, it very well could have tweaked his melon.

You remember when Clement got drilled in the temple? I think the Sox were down in Tampa. I thought that killed him.

Rock Strongo

My mind spits with an enormous kickback.

You seen all the Ian Desmond errors? Costly ones too! I also noticed that Desmond fielded the RBI groundout off of Holt's bat that scored the eventual winning run. He looked towards home and really thought about it, as he did have a play at the plate. But 6 errors later, he doesn't seem to have the confidence to make that play. Don't discount the fact that Desmond's defense could suffer beyond the basic errors. If he's worried about making these basic plays, it will be that much harder for him to make the big plays. And comments from him do confirm that he's very worried right now.

David Wright is on the DL and equally as surprising, the sun rose in the East this morning. :L

David Wright's injury could be devastating. The Mets must show they are serious by finding reinforcements. if out long time will this be an excuse for m Donald Wilpon to write off 2015. I hope not but based on past why would I think differently. I was wondering if Bartolo was going to go out and play 3rd after the injury!

I remember playing ball as a kid. There was no worse feeling than committing an error. I wouldnt be shocked if he is damaged goods right now

Ehh, his UZR/150 isn't great but not bad either. He's around average defensively when looking at total package (range, arm, etc) though he is an error machine. He's capable, though a team would probably rather have him playing elsewhere even if it is second.

In case you missed it, Nick Martinez is now 2-0 and hasn't given up a run in 14 innings. That is all.

Cameron Maybin just hit his second HR of the season. Is that as many as he ever hit in SD?

3-0 lead and we fought off the bases loaded not too shabby

Nice. I have Bauer on my Draft Kings team ... as 90% of all contestants.

Really need Santana to get his head out!
