HEAR ME OUT...

All these teams hate each other, but I think this is a good fit...

SAN: Ingram, Kuzma, 25th pick (LAL), 31st pick (PHX), Future 1st (LAL)

LAL: Leonard, 16th pick (PHX)

PHX: Ball, Deng's contract

San Antonio reloads, LA gets rid of a bad contract, get a top 8 player, and moves up in the draft for their guy Zhaire Smith, Phoenix gets their PG of the future.

LA does give up their entire young core basically, but if they are confident they can land PG then it's worth it alone imo, esp. if Zhaire falls to them at 16.

Interesting.

I spread this thread to a few other threads related to "get more views."

Fan Nation-ites will get this reference.

We would also probably get James and we'd still have Jason Hart left from the kiddie corps.

I like it for all parties. SA might get a better package, but still.

Well done!

Feel like Phoenix gets screwed completely in this deal, but if it's coming for a Suns fan, then I guess it works.

I'm pretty high on Ball still personally (which I hate to admit since he's a Laker), he's exactly the kind of playmaker/pass 1st PG we need. Pair him up with Booker on the perimeter and have Jackson on the wing & Ayton down low... that's a squad. Lots of length too.

Essentially PHX gives up 16 & 31 for Ball, and has to sit out FA this year due to Deng's contract, but next year they have Chandler & Dudley's contracts off the books & the year after Knight & Deng, so they aren't going to be strapped for cash long term. PHX can't draft 3 rookies this year, they have enough 19/20 year olds.

If Suns fans are with it, yeah...

Ball-Booker-Jackson-Chriss/Bender-Ayton

Yeah, that would be a popular NBA League Pass team, lol. Deng's contract is worth taking on because frankly, outside of the top FA's in this year's class I don't see anyone worth overpaying really.

I don't know.

They aren't real players in free agency this year anyway. But, in 2 years they very well might be.

With a potential core of Ball, Booker, Ayton, Jackson with only Booker on a non-rookie contract, that makes them players for a max type player (Anthony Davis?) if those youngins grow as expected. Adding a max guy to that core would give the Suns a clear pathway to contention.

Picks 16 and 31 are a small price to absorb Deng and acquire a player like Ball who would fit them well. Also, taking Deng's contract might actually save them from making a bad free agency decision this year.

Yeah, it's a good trade for a team like the Suns or Hawks.

Taking Deng for the #2 pick is the same price the Nets paid to get Russell.

This is reasonable.

Expecting a team to eat Deng for Hart or Zubac, Bryant is a totally different story.

Except, Ball is actually a good player. Russell sucks.

If I'm Phoenix... I hesitate on a deal like this because of... wait for it... Lavar Ball.

I'm dead serious, btw.

Suns can just hire @Mecca and turn her loose on Lavar. He'll run crying back to Chino Hills and never go to Arizona again.

Great trade idea. I hate losing the entire young core, but PG and Kawhi are young enough to make it worth it, plus it would likely mean Lebron coming along as well.

Lonzo and Booker would make for a scary as hell combo. Especially if Lonzo learns to shoot.
