Its a weird dynamic in playoff series that pressure can really come down on a team that takes a huge lead in the series with every subsequent loss. This series will get real if the Sixers can pull off Game 5. I hope they do, cause Game 6 and/or 7 would be fun.

I don’t see Boston losing 4 in a row. But it’d be nice to see them take it to a game 7.

So the 76ers are actually 1.5 point favorites in game 5. Are you kidding me?

Well, Boston isn´t much of a sports town... no real home court advantage for the C´s.

What lost the Sixers the series, assuming that they lose it, is that Ben Simmons showed that he was a rookie and not ready to adjust on the fly to playoff pressures.

Other factors played into it as well. RoCo being largely invisible was a real problem. Bellinelli and Ilyasova showed why they were available on the scrap heap, even if they are still perfectly serviceable players.
TJ has changed the game every time he's entered. He's been removed prematurely and not put in early enough.

It is a shame to lose this very winnable series just because of refusing to play the hottest player.

Make other excuses if you must. What was and is entirely controllable was the amount of time our hottest player plays. He's electric and no one else has been.

Lets hope the Sixers pull it off.

The Sixers- just because of how young they are- should just keep getting better and better with every playoff game they play. this experience is invaluable.

if they can keep improving and get their shit together they might make this more interesting than it should be.

Id love to see the Sixers pull off game 5 and have Game 6 at home and see Bostons balls start to shrink a little bit.

Philly has too much pride and talent. Game 3 is theirs IMO. But Brad may have other thoughts
The Celtics are as better team and should win this series.

Game 2. If he doesn’t sub Simmons back in or if he subs someone else out to put Simmons in...probably 2-2 right now. Ah well.
For me it's a little more than "ah well." It shows that Brett Brown fails to see the game that is actually happening in front of him. Coaching from his head instead of from the front row.

Must be a Philly thing they do to Boston.

Hockey is weird though. I don't follow it but the playoffs seem like they are very random, maybe even more than baseball. I mean, how does an expansion team like Vegas destroy the league in their first year (and likely win the Cup)? Do lower seeds win the Cup a lot in hockey?

I don't know about a lot, but probably more than in other sports. In hockey, a hot goalie can carry a team a long way. It's how the Kings won at least one of their Stanley Cups.

Not to mention that the longer the series goes, the more rest Lebron gets. lol

That's my novice impression too. Seems like lower seeds go far in the hockey playoffs all the time, and that home ice is not an advantage the way it is in football and basketball.

Must be why they have a better road record than home record.

If you really want to get into a back and forth here... have you checked out the C´s record at home this playoff season?

But I'm curious about the lower seed thing. Also Vegas.

8 seeds do win in hockey. Not very often but it does happen. It's definitely more balanced than basketball where 4 seeds winning almost never happens.

Hockey is a different animal because a hot goalie can put an 8 seed over the top.

The NHL regular season is as much as a grind as the NBA season, but in reality, the top players play roughly 1/3 of the entire game, whereas in the NBA, top players are playing 3/4 of the game, often more in the playoffs.

Yeah I think he’s got such an eye toward the future that he forgot the 76ers have a legitimate chance to win the East this year. That’s probably out the window now. But maybe he’s able to right the ship and bring them back from the dead. It could easily be 3-1 76ers right now. It’s not. But maybe the team uses that as motivation to go on a tear for the remainder of this series.

I’m sure you’d love to see this get to 7 games.
