RW is what, 28 ?
They need to land a seasoned FA PG like Teague was last year. Put Teague in while Westbrook is resting, they wouldn't be outscored by 40 pts in 4 games.
If they're relying on the draft FW will likely never have the support he needs while still in his prime.

I agree. They have a better chance of finding a solid backup through FA rather than with a late 1st round pick

Deron Williams or Shaun Livingston would be a really good option for them IMO.

I can't imagine the team getting outscored a pt a minute with either of them in the game, which is roughly what has happened through 4 games while RW is on the bench.

Nope. They obviously need another perimeter guy as well. Someone who is a 3 and D guy who can actually handle the ball. Those would be my 2 priories in FA if I worked for OKC.

If they had either now they'd be up 3-1 in this series. Heck if they were only down 20 pts while RW was on the bench they'd be no worse than tied.

The Thunder needs another player who can handle the ball, get his own shot and score the basket.
Then it will be up to Westbrook to utilize him to relieve pressure and become more efficient at critical points in games. He must wear down after carrying the team on his back all game.

Never thought I would miss Dion Waiters so much.

@tlance If Russ had the Pacers supporting cast, would this series be different in your opinion?

I'm only asking because I had a debate this morning about which supporting cast is worse. I said OKC and my friend said Indy.

Thoughts?

If you take PG-13 and Russ out of the equation, I don't find the rosters to be that different from each talent-wise. Who's a 3-point shooter from Indiana's side, sans Lance?

CJ Miles. Shot 41% from 3 in the regular season.

I would trade the Thunder bench for Indy. Durant fucked the Thunder over good leaving when he did. All the free agents were gone by then.

It happens. Happened to Miami in 2014. This summer they should be able to do a better job.

I feel like they dropped the ball by not bringing back Waiters. A guy like him off the bench is exactly what they needed.

Seems like they just had a guy who was just exactly like that? :noidea:

I could see Lou Williams too. I know he's primarily a 2, but he can handle the 1 spot for the few minutes per game that they would need him to and he can get his own shot.

Wasn't part of the problem that Waiters didn't want to be a bench guy though?

Refs are more credible in college. Hate to say it, but it's the truth.

LMAO did you see the national title game? NBA refs are bad but not as bad as CBB IMO.

Watching the tournament and seeing all these important players get in foul trouble of BS calls nonstop was annoying

I'm not too sure though. He wasn't locked in to start in Miami until Richardson injured his knee in September. We all expected Richardson to start if you asked us back in August

Yeah, I thought I had heard wanting to start was the issue, but like you said, he had no guarantees with the Heat.

Both team without their superstars:

Indiana
Starters - PG - Teague SG - Miles SF - Stephenson PF - Young C - Turner

Bench - Brooks, Ellis, Seraphin, Robinson,

OKC
Starters - PG - Cole SG - Oladipo SF - Roberson PF - Gibson C - Adams

Bench - Abrines, Grant, McDermott, Kanter

I would take Indiana's team bc OKC doesn't have very good depth or any depth at the PG position.
