Where would I begin???
They're one of my all time favorite bands...I love all their stuff.
I'd have a hard time picking 3 of their best songs from any 3 of their many albums.

I'll get back on this later and try to narrow it down.

@SlinkyRedfoot is going to bust a nut over this thread. If you're in the front row, you might want to get some plastic and treat it like a Gallagher show.

I've always thought the guitar solo on Rikki was one of the greatest in rock history. It actually wasn't played by Becker, but Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, who used to play with the Doobie Brothers (who, believe it or not, later went on to become a consultant for the US Defense Department). Deacon Blue has some of the best lyrics I ever heard (My Old School certainly does as well, for all who chose that).

Becker doesn't play most of the solos, neither does Fagen. They're more writers and arrangers than they are virtuosos at their respective instruments.

Also, the song is Deacon Blues.

This.

I would say that any list like this should probably begin and end with Aja. So much amazing stuff going on in that song. The mixed drum/sax solo between Steve Gadd and Wayne Shorter is absolutely fucking amazing.

I wouldn't say that I agree with all your picks from the various albums, but I wouldn't disagree with any of them up until this album.

No Jack of Speed? What. The. Fuck?

From there I'd go with Two Against Nature and Gaslighting Abbie.
