Dadonov didn’t have Anaheim on his list of teams he was willing to be traded to. However Ottawa did not file his no trade list on July 1st before trading him to Vegas this past summer

At this point he should accept a trade to any team. If not it is back to Russia for him.

Pierre Dorion has managed to fuck up 2 teams while only being GM of 1

I bet they get a pass here. I have no confidence in the NHL that they will do anything right and fair.

They'll get a pass and because Kesler is involved, the Canucks will be assessed a cap recapture penalty.

more details. what a clusterfuck

The Sabres might a winner if this trade is nixed.

The Knights cannot bring Stone back from LTIR (as is expected) and need to keep Daddy in lineup. Not sure how he's going to feel about that. The lower the Knights finish, the better the 1st round pick is for Buffalo, and lottery chances, from the Eichel trade. It's doubtful the Knights fall to 10th overall or lower to protect pick.

So is it because Dadonov didn't have to waive his NTC - since it was a modified with team list - that it didn't void when he got traded to LV? Assuming that Vegas was on his OK list of course?

I guess this boils down to whether there's an electronic record of Ottawa forwarding the list to the league and to VGK. If the league is going to void this both of those things have to have happened I'm assuming.

But if Ottawa didn't they should be penalized for their negligence (even though VGK 100% knew about the NTC and are likely just using this technicality to push the deal through) if there's something that covers shit like this in the rule book which I would assume there is. Probably should strip them of their first round pick.

I feel like the trade should be voided but Anaheim gets to keep the second rounder from Vegas and gets Ottawa’s first rounder as compensation for having to take Kesler back.

/and send a recapture penalty Vancouvers way just for the hell of it
