I think Dak will like throwing

This is interesting. Dak called Tolbert a few days ago. So obviously Tolbert been on their radar for months . Impressive interview by Tolbert .

yeah it sounds like the Cowboys had this guy targeted all along. So they must've had a plan for how to use this guy.

24. DALLAS COWBOYS: OT TYLER SMITH, TULSA

Pick Grade: Good

Smith has had a meteoric rise in recent months. Arguably the most violent offensive lineman at the Group of Five level, Smith led the nation in big-time run-blocks a season ago. His grip strength and power are a sight to see — once his hands get locked into the defender's pads, it’s game over. The Tulsa product earned a 92.1 PFF grade that ranked fourth among FBS tackles in 2021. He was even better from Week 6 on, too, as he graded out at 94.2 over the back half of the season. Smith is going to have a steep learning curve to start, but he is young at just 21-years-old. -AT

Matt Waletzko

Pre-Draft Analysis

Waletzko is a tall offensive tackle with rare length and good range. He gets good initial push in a phone booth and buries defenders on combo blocks. He has a high center of gravity and falls off blocks late. He has the long arms to take away the edge and flashes a powerful punch in pass pro. He has the foot speed and balance to take away inside moves when his footwork is sound, but Waletzko gets caught flat-footed at times. -- Steve Muench

7 picks away from our last pick in 22.

I'd be happy it they took a flyer on Carson Strong.

Looks better than Rush

Man I would love to have picked up Strong
Overall though, I really liked their draft. I think a lot of folks were worried about a guy that needs some polish in round 1 because the Cowboys often kill it in round 1 and draft like crap after that. Seeing how well they drafted throughout this draft makes me feel better about their first rounder. Williams has potential, Tolbert is simply good, and I really liked the Ridgeway, Ferguson, Waletzko, and Clark picks. Nice job

I'm now hoping Strong goes undrafted, so at least we have chance to bring him to Dallas

Possibly they coach up Waletzko like they did Steele. Jake Ferguson looks like a very good pick. Can you imagine a healthy Clark and Parsons playing together? Clark is a beast

Looks like the only available player higher was Cine.

Not sure about the rest of you, but I see OL as a bigger need than S.

Now one can question if the team had the best players in the right order.

I was listening to Paul Alexander today and he thinks Smith is awesome. Said if he stayed in college he would have been a top 5-10 overall pick next year

JETS did well too. Vikings got the steal of the 1st in Cine

Now that thought more on this Cine hada 1st rd grade Smith didn’t. Maybe Cine should have been the pick.
