I hope that I’m not the only one who isn’t enthused or excited about opening day.

I kind of wish the calendar would get backwards and not forwards to give JD more time to fix this team, but he can have all the time in the world this offseason and nothing will probably get done.

I guess Choo and company need to get off the damn books.

If anything I would want the calendar to go forward, but there will be some interesting things to follow this season.

I have seen a few games DG, they certainly are looking better this year.

Some information on Julio Pablo Martinez:

Based on his present talent level, Martinez is ready for a high Class A or Double-A assignment. A lefty around 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, Martinez in his last season in Cuba hit .333/.469/.498 with 52 walks, 30 strikeouts and six home runs in 264 plate appearances with 24 stolen bases in 29 tries.

Martinez has a promising combination of power, speed and athleticism in center field. In Cuba he was a plus runner from home to first, though he has shown even better in the 60-yard dash recently while working out for clubs.

His strike-zone control isn't as sharp as his raw Cuban stats might suggest, but he has consistently performed at a high level both in the Cuban junior leagues and in Serie Nacional. He's a good low-ball hitter, with quick wrists, good bat speed and a strong lower half to generate power. While there is some swing-and-miss to his game, his strikeout rate should be manageable. His all-around skill set has some similarities to a shorter version of a younger Curtis Granderson, though Martinez is faster.

carlos Gomez signs with TB. 1 year 4M

Hmm more CF off market and for only 4. I know his defense on decline but minus speed a bit better than DDJ

I've honestly got no problem at all with seeing how DDJ does in CF, and then make another decision if we need too.

I'm with ya especially with his OBP and runs scored.

Honestly the only negative about DDJ in CF is his arm, he could take better routes and angles, but he gets to a lot of balls on his speed alone, that might be troublesome if he was 30, but he's still got speed to burn out there and can still learn
