Yeah
Didn't mean for it to come off that way.
I always thought Armstrong held you guys way back. But that's what Riley had to work with and went with it.
If you have even a halfway good QB that doesn't get you into trouble, you should be better.

We have a lifetime NFL scout on hand, and he thinks Tanner Lee is a future 1st round NFL draft pick.

I'm not full on drinking the kool-aid just yet, but I do find it interesting.

Either way, we can't possibly get worse QB play than the last 7 years of Martinez/Armstrong. Holy shit, I shit I just threw up in my mouth again.

I think that's what we have, along with some quality depth behind him. As bad as Armstrong was sometimes, he'd get hurt and we'd end up with either a 30% Armstrong or a walk-on who couldn't take the pressure.

7 years of Martinez/Armstrong.

HOLY FUCK
I FORGOT ABOUT MARTINEZ

You guys are going to get better.
It was hard watching both those guys do good things then just flounder and fuck it all up
every. single. time.

Ha.

7 years of pure fuckdom knowing you could never beat anybody with a pulse.

At least I have some hope this year. It won't be pretty I'm sure, but at least a step in the right direction after 15 years of shit.

9-3 after the tough loss to Iowa knocks them down a bowl.

I predict Nebraska fans on the Hoop will continue to get more joy out of Texas losses than they do Cornhusker wins.

4 or 5 years ago you might have had a leg to stand on with this statement. I can say with relative confidence that most Husker fans, while they despise Texas, really don't give a fuck anymore. That ship has sailed.

This goes along with the fascination that Nebraska wants back in the Big 12. Nebraska would rather have their balls cut off with a butter knife than go back to the Big 12.

Armstrong was not a world-beater. But it has been well documented that he was by far the best option Nebraska had at Quarterback for 4 straight years, and it wasn't close. For what it's worth...

That's harsh. I had to think about this one for a bit, but in the end, I agree.

9 - 3. I think Oregon wins at home. They won't be the same team as last season. They have CU's DC and Herbert (QB), has a season under his belt. Autzen Stadium is going to be loud as fvk for that game.

I agree, when was last Husker "good" road win, they usually find a way to lose the close ones on road as well.

Likey 8-4, with L at Whisky and Ped U and one more that they just sheet in their own pants (Iowa, at PU, MN or IL)

I don't follow Texas all that closely but it is pretty discouraging to lose by 1 score when your QB throws 4 picks, including a pick six (or two? I can't remember).

Yes, was just pointing out I feel your pain-and it could be worse. But you never know when that next special guy may come along.

This page reads they had a couple special guys the last 7 years...or do you mean a different kind of special?

But Armstrong threw the best YOLO bombs. High entertainment.

This. I think Riley's offense is better suited for QBs other than Armstrong types. JMO.

Some good QB play just might land you at 11-1.

  1. Nebraska
  2. Wisconsin
  3. Penn State
  4. Ohio State
  5. then everybody else.

OK, I am going with my official pick

8-4

Losses to Oregon, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Penn State

Wins against everyone else. Northwestern, Minnesota, and Iowa were toss up games, but I think this year Nebraska will beat Northwestern and Iowa in Lincoln. Minnesota does not have enough to win in Minneapolis.

This means Riley only loses two road games for the first time as the Head Coach at Nebraska.

I was down to 8-4 or 7-5 but I drank more koolaid, and read up on the opposition. The B1G west is going to be a basket case, except for Wisconsin. Wisconsin could go 12-0.
