who is your Indians MVP?

Jose Ramirez: .315 avg., .370 obp, 27 hr's, 51 doubles, 98 runs, 76 rbi's, 15 sb's---- very good defender that has been versatile between 2b, 3b

Frankie Lindor : .277 avg., .339 obp, 31 hr's, 40 doubles, 92 runs, 83 rbis, 14 sb--- gold glove caliber defense at ss

Corey Kluber: 17-4 record, 2.35 era, 0.85 whip, 191.2 innings, 252 k's, 11.83 k's per nine, 7.6 WAR (according to ESPN),

or.....

Bottom 5....

1. Giants - 60 wins
2. White Sox - 60 wins
3. Phillies - 61 wins
4. Tigers - 62 wins
5. Mets - 65 wins

Phils have won 7 of their last ten....Tigers could move up a notch if they stay hot.

Of course, doug saw all of this when he ''crunched the numbers'' back in March.

Tough call. Ramirez has a pretty healthy lead on Lindor offensively, but you pointed out Lindor's defense (although, I'm going to corrected you and point out that he's got platinum glove caliber defense at SS) which could make up that difference. They both seem to be grinders with a never-say-quit attitudes.

Then there's Kluber, who if you look at his numbers, they compare to Kershaw's and Verlander's MVP seasons.

CK 2017 - 17 W ~ 4 L ~ 191.2 IP ~ 252 Ks ~ .850 WHIP ~ 2.35 ERA ~ 195 ERA+ ~ 7.7 WAR
CK 2014 - 21 W ~ 3 L ~ 198.1 IP ~ 239 Ks ~ .857 WHIP ~ 1.77 ERA ~ 197 ERA+ ~ 8.0 WAR
JV 2011 - 24 W ~ 5 L ~ 251.0 IP ~ 250 Ks ~ .920 WHIP ~ 2.40 ERA ~ 172 ERA+ ~ 8.4 WAR

Measured by WAR, baseball-reference has them ranked:

Kluber - 7.7 WAR
Ramirez - 6.1 WAR
Lindor - 4.9 WAR

Honestly, I'm glad I don't have to pick.

Francona is a manager and can't win MVP, but I will say that I think he's one of the few managers in the game that actually makes a difference, and I think he makes a big difference. I'm glad he's with Cleveland.

damn

JV throwing over 250 innings is bonkers.

If I HAD to pick i think id go Jose---- just because he seems to have had a more consistent season. Frankie has been ridiculously hot lately, -same with Kluber--- but Kluber missed a little time, and Lindor wasnt that great for a stretch there.

Reasonable. I wouldn't call someone stupid for picking any one of the three.

doug is stupid, though.

Lindor has been significantly better in high leverage situations though.

Lindor: 100 PA, .302/.398/.607/1.005

Ramirez: 103 PA, .216/.243/.340/.583

What the hell with this manifesto.
