Jack Sock vs. Dustin Brown, and Benoit Paire vs. Gabashvilli, could be the most competitive matches tomorrow.

Venus and Serena are playing doubles! They haven't done that in a while.

Their last doubles Finals at a major was 2012 Wimbledon.

They haven't played doubles at a major since the 2014 USO.

really hoping sock can conserve some energy with an easy-ish win over brown. it's brown's worst surface, and probably sock's best.

I haven't watched Brown on clay before, so you might be right.

I just thought Brown's unpredictable style of playing could take some getting used to, and might provide for a long match.

When do Mens doubles start? The Bryan Brothers are in it, right?

They haven't won a major since the 2014 USO.

One thing I love about the French is when the clay court specialist go up against those players who are not so good on clay. It can lead to some fascinating matches

You were right. Straight forward win for Sock. Much needed after that 5 set first round

Murray in a struggle again. Dropped the 2nd set and down a break in the 3rd.

Murray will need 5 sets again if he wants to advance. Down 2 sets to 1

Murray won it in 5.

I thought this little blurb from The Telegraph was pretty funny:
The one factor that played to Murray’s advantage was Bourgue’s inexperience. He had never played a five-set match before and his nutritional choices – a can of Coke and a chocolate bar – contrasted with Murray’s colour-coded shakes.

I feel like we'll see Isner and Sock both in the round of 16 on Sunday

Yesterday is probably going to be the best day of the tourney, in terms of competitiveness.

* Karlovic and Jordan Thompson needed an extended 5 set match. Karlovic won 12-10 for Karlovic.

Happy for Karlovic because he's 37 years old, so nice to see another rewarding moment for someone continuing to play.

I hope Tommy Haas can have those, when he comes back.

* Exciting 1st set tiebreaker between Wawrinka and Taro Daniel.

* The aforementioned Murray - Bourgue match.

* 5 sets for Simon over Pella, with Pella fighting back while being down a break in the 5th.

This was on a court with a bunch of kids, because it was Kids' Day, so they loved seeing one of their French stars win.

* The 2nd set tiebreak between Sock and Brown was pretty good.

I don't know if it's me, but after reading the previous comments about Sock's forehand, which the broadcasters also repeated, I tried to pay attention to the rpms on it. I think because it was on a small court, and the camera angle wasn't as good, I hard a hard time watching this match. I couldn't see where the balls were ending up. The view was too narrow, and went off screen easily.

Later, when they showed a main court again for the Murray match, it was much easier to watch, and follow the full flight of the balls.

So, I just had a hard time evaluating Sock's shots. I have no opinion, based on that match.

Hopefully he gets moved to a main court soon.

* Irina Begu won over Coco Vandeweghe in an extended 3rd set, 10-8 in the 3rd. Longest match of the season.

I think Isner is going to lose to Gabashvilli. He usually loses 1 round before I think he will, and I think Gabashvilli has a good chance of winning.

The 3rd and 4th rounds are shaping up with good matchups.

Thank god Tomic is eliminated. Couldn't happen to a nice guy.

I'm sure it doesn't bother him though since he has 10 mill in his bank account

No heart on that kid. He will be a flash in the pan at best. Reminds me of Rios. Tons of talent with a 2 cent brain. Never know though, he could grow out of it like Agassi did. AA is the exception though, not the rule.
