First time I've ever been accused of overestimating Rafa.

No way I'd ever be stupid enough to say he has mediocre talent, though. Sure, string technology has helped him off of clay, but he would be an all time great even without most of the slams off of clay. This is basic knowledge for legitimate tennis fans.

I till think his US Open wins were suspect, of course. The mysteriously unbreakable serve that only existed for a couple of weeks after a long break from competitive play....kinda juicy.

Nope I'll be there on Sunday. Next year I'll be back to going during the 3rd round. So many more matches to watch with ground passes in the 3rd round compared to the round of 16. I'll wait for the schedule to come out to see who's playing which will decide how I early I go. 2 years ago I went for the first match at 11 AM but last year I did not get there until 2 PM because I did not give a shit about the first match and just wanted to see Novak play.

I turned off tennis went Rafa went up a break in the third set. Suffice to say I don't think I've ever been so shocked to see a result the next day. Rafa was in complete control.

I was lucky enough to wake up and turn it back on around the end of the 3rd set. Unbelievable play by both. Makes women's tennis look like tidily winks. Although Serena / Mattek was at least watchable after the first set.

One of my biggest shocks was this Clijsters match:

She was up 5-2 in the 2nd set and had match point.

Even when she lost the 2nd set, the broadcasters talked about her as if she's win the 3rd for sure, and how she'd show her resolve.

Instead she lost 6-1 in the 3rd.

She had been playing so well to get up 5-2 on Rus' serve.

Women's Tennis is at its most pathetic era EVER. Which is why SW winning slams at her age is hardly surprising and the equivent of a penalty kick goal minus any goalie. I still don't get how someone as large as her weighing close to 200 lbs is moving around the court.

This is complete and absolute nonsense. What the hell are you talking about? As usual Hs002 doesn't make sense here. Fact. Do you think the stabbing of Monica contributed to the slams Steffi got in her absence? She was shellacking Steffi prior to the stabbing. Remember the 36 year old Martina Navratilova even beat Steffi!
