beating nadal is extremely physically taxing to anybody, especially a guy who hasn't played major tennis in over 6 months.

120 degrees on court over the next several days. conditions and court time are going to be a big factor for most players, and it's almost always magnified at the first major of the year.

people keep talking about nadal vs tomic in round 1

i think tomic might be able to keep it close for a set or two, and maybe even win 1. after that, though, rafa runaway.

murray with a tougher road to the final than nole after taking half of the last season off. if murray happens to make the final, he'll probably be on court quite a lot more than nole, so i like nole's chances.

probably.

nadal gets off to slow starts a lot. including last week when he went 3 sets against against a couple of nobodies.

Li is playing the Jr. Wimbledon champ, Konjuh. Looking forward to flipping to this once in awhile.

Isner ankle is bothering him....Looks like he may throw in the towel if he doesn't win the set.....Should have never came here on a bad ankle to embarrass himself

Will be interested to see if Goran can get Cilic over the hump. The rest of the coach changes dont do much for me. Becker with Djoker is interesting too.

Fed looked pretty damn awful today when he tried to attack. Luckily the defense was good and Duckworth wasn't sharp.

It would be wondrous to see Satan Blewit go down today.

ESPN2 didn't show too much continuous coverage of FED's match, because they switched to another one.

But from what I saw, balls weren't flying off his racquet like they did in July. His balls actually seemed a bit too low and short at times, but I think I prefer that than to overhit balls.

Ever year, sigh.

I don't think the heat is as much of an issue for Isner, as he usually does well in Atlanta, and probably one other hardcourt summer tourney.

But he never seems healthy for the AO. Or something.

much hotter than the weather station temps when actually on the courts

it's the same kind of heat we have where i live in the summer, mid 100s with low humidity. it's punishing. not as bad as humidity, but still pretty miserable.
