Wow...congrats Riders on a truly dominant performance. Shame the last few Grey Cups haven't been very close

Do they stop the clock on every first down ala NCAA?

the clock stops after every play, starts again when the ref sets the ball back at scrimmage for the next play.
with only 3 downs, you can't afford a 'spike'.
but it's on of the reasons the game doesn't end at the 2 minute warning if the team with the lead gets the ball.

also, rules are a bit different in the last 3 min of each half.
explained well here, of course Canadian football (game clock) - Wikipedia

Congrats to the Roughriders for winning and thanks NBCSN letting folks in the US see the game.

Also important to note cfl uses a 20 second play-clock versus 40 for nfl/ncaa ... The plays come fast and furious

Gotta have stamina to play cfl

There are some rules I like more in CFL than NFL, and vice versa. I like the bigger field, allows for more offense. The CFL is definitely offense heavy. Very quick, not lumbering hard hitting stuff. That's all well and good, but I'm a Pittsburgher, so I think I'd be shunned if I said I didn't like hard hitting defense. :)

I think 2 hits tonight that riders safety/db tyrone brackenridge had would have been flagged for hitting a defenseless receiver if it were an nfl game

The cfl needs to do something about all the receivers in motion though

Refs miss at least 2 offsides per game

I Want the motion to stay ... But maybe have a coaches challenge on a missed offside by a receiver in motion :noidea:

@bruce_arthur
The 50-50 for the Grey Cup in Regina pays out an estimated $252,000. You read that right.

holy crap the prairie folks love their 50/50. that's a half schmill collected from 44,000 fans.
I know that's less than $12 per person, but that's also assuming EVERY person participates.

Tough night all around for #TiCats Pete Dyakowski. After dislocating his knee, he drew the short straw & had to get drug tested. #CFL

Grey Cup hits 4.5 million viewers on TSN. Incredible average considering game was effectively over before half time. 4th highest ever.
