Do you think Kimbrell will win the Cy Young? I mean 45 saves w 3 blown and about a 1.0 ERA with a .90 something WHIP would be pretty solid.

What do you think?

:agree:

Kimbrel has been awesome the last few months but Kershaw is just been better and cant see anyone that deserves it more than Kershaw.

I really couldn't care less about individual player rewards. I am just hoping the Braves can win the whole shebang! And I think we can.

Yup. Kimbrel's having a hell of a season. But I have a hard time putting relief pitchers (unless maybe it's someone like 1986 Mark Eichhorn (who had a 246 ERA+ in 157 IP)) ahead of starting pitchers, especially in the case of Kershaw's 2013 season.

Both injuries were accidents, plain and simple. That being said, I can't help but hate the Mets at the moment.

Proof to me that Brandon Beachy is not coming back anytime soon.

The Atlanta Braves, in need of pitching help as they gear up for the postseason, have acquired veteran Freddy Garcia from the Orioles.

Garcia will start at Triple-A Gwinnett, per Mark Bowman. Garcia struggled through 10 starts with the Orioles this season, notching a 5.77 ERA and 1.36 WHIP before being optioned to the Minor Leagues. With Triple-A Norfolk, he had a 2.84 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP and won eight of his 13 starts.
Braves starter Brandon Beachy, returning this season from Tommy John surgery, felt his velocity dip in his most recent start and will visit with Dr. James Andrews on Monday.
Atlanta is already without Tim Hudson, who fractured his ankle in late July. The Braves’ starting rotation is fifth in the National League in ERA (3.58) and seventh in batting average against (.252).
The 36-year-old Garcia has spent one season in the National League, 2007 with Philadelphia, where he posted a 5.90 ERA in 11 starts.
