Curious: Anyone else finding themselves rooting for the A's tonight?

Sorry CC and Stokes

2 straight losses by the A's would bring nothing but smiles from me

Wow - Barry Zito is 15-8. Who woulda thunk that 6 months ago?

There was someone talking about Zito winning 15-20. Seriously. I think it was a knbr caller after a spring training game. Stopped clock result but hey, go Zeets!

Zito's ERA is finished at 4.15, exactly what he finished at in 2010. Now think about how he was going into the 2010 playoffs and now. What a turnaround for the guy.

Whether we win this game (we will), or not, the deal is that by sending Zeets out there with 96 pitches, when he folds at 100 pitches, and has all season, this has just given the Dodgers reason to believe. Up until the HBP of Either/Or, they were dead, dead, dead I tell you. Now they think they can win.

Add this to your list, GP.

All y'all are haters. Sheesh.

This is what sucks. A tight game in the 7th, and we're putting our faith in Mota and Kontos. If Wilson was the closer, you might have Casilla in there relieving Zito. This is why I am concerned.

But I hope you're right. You just never know how the playoffs will turn out. Just look at the last two teams to win the whole thing. Who would have thought?

The playoffs are one big SSS fest. The lucky/hot at the right time team wins it. The gods will either give it to us or someone else.

Kontos comes through.

Whew

Let's score some more runs, fellas!

Or maybe Noggin will let Kontos hit for himself later in the inning with the bases full of Giants and two outs.

Yeah, Noggin totally sucks as manager, I think we can all agree.

Z was in there to face one batter, on whom he has ownage. Not so hard to see. Billy Weed sucks ass.

This.

Weed doesn't suck and you know it. He did last night, obviously.

I know I am getting into hypotheticals and far ahead of myself but...

If Posey were to win MVP this year and we win the WS

In really 2 seasons (call it 3 if you want)
1 ROY, 1 MVP, 2 Rings

A long way to go, but where would he rank already among some of the GOAT C's

Not sure re GOAT catchers, but he's turning out to be the Giants version of Derek Jeter....

Except for banging supermodels (as far as we know)

Remember in early 2010 Zito was like 4-0 in April, so was Timmy, we were debating who would get the Cy of the two of them...

I hate reading something like this - even in jest - because it reminds me of one of "toothpick's" stupidest moves : 2000 NLDS in NY, game 4, top of the 5th, Giants down 2-0, bases loaded, 2 out and the idiotic manager *doesn't* pinch hit for Gardener. Gardner, who was taken out after just one out in the bottom of the next inning. His explanation after the game : "I wanted to save the pen for the next game." For those that don't remember this travesty, it was the elimination game - there WAS no "next game". Mother Fucking Baker.

Baker, BTW, is the reason my wife really doesn't like being in the same room when I watch Giants' ballgames. I was often screaming at the TV when watching "Douchety" (mis)manage the Giants.

That was a long time ago, she still doesn't like to be there with you?

But yeah, Dusty was not good with the Xs and Os. Next time someone around here decides Bochy isn't doing it right...

All y'all are haters. Sheesh.

Monday morning posting is easy.

In the heat of the game, we bashed this around, and several of us disagreed with Bochy's call.

Turned out the call made the game a lot closer than it needed to be, but the Giants prevailed, and the Dogs went home for the postseason.
