Seems to be the latest on Morin:

The Philadelphia Flyers have indeed signed Samuel Morin to a three-year contract.
Morin's contract is reportedly worth $700,000 per season. He suffered a torn ACL during the Calder Cup playoffs which could sideline him until February. "We viewed it more as an opportunity because we can get a lower cap number because he’s not gonna really play this year," Flyers GM Ron Hextall said. "We said, ‘You know what? We can spread it over three years.’ He understands kind of the logic. It was a fair deal for both sides and we got him for three years at a low cap number. We believe in Sam Morin. He had a tough year. Obviously an ACL is not an injury that you want, but that guys respond back from pretty well. We think a lot of Big Sam." Jun 23 - 5:07 AM

O'Brien 2A
Cates 1A
Farabee 1A

in the World Junior Summer Showcase games yesterday. The Swedes (Lycksell, Ginning, Ersson) didn't factor in much. Frost and Ratcliffe join in the fun, all 8 will be in action today/tonight.

I still can't believe Giroux didn't win the Hart Trophy, and in fact only finished 4th in the voting. How many times is this guy going to get snubbed for something in his career? Second in scoring with 102 points, career highs in almost every category, advanced metrics, even strength and power play scoring that would make almost anyone jealous. All of that and we made the playoffs when probably not expected to do so. It's pretty insane, really.

Flyers prospects make themselves known again at the World Junior Summer Showcase last night.

Lycksell - 1G
Farabee - 2G (Player of the Game for USA White)
Frost - 1A
Ratcliffe - 1G
Errson - Stopped 27/30 and assisted on Lycksell's goal

Cates, Ginning, and O'Brien all played as well, but did not register any points.

From everything I've seen on Farabee I hope he's in a flyers uni very quickly.

I'm pretty excited for Frost, Farabee, O'Brien, Ratcliffe, and Allison up front. I think all 5 of them have top 6 potential, which is pretty crazy considering the Flyers already have a good/great top 6.

These first round guys we just drafted have a ton of speed and skill. Farabee is going to BU. Let's see if he stays for one year or two before turning pro. Hopefully it prepares him better than what JvR got at I believe UNH.

Here's to skating circles around the opposition in just a few years. :suds:

Be really nice when we can start working them into the line up, we need 3 good solid lines.

By the time these guys step into the spotlight and will be at the top of their game our current top 6 will be either gone or on the decline of their careers.
