I can't believe the Yankees are still in first pace, they're terrible right now.
Tough to completely lose a 4 game lead in 2 weeks when everyone else is middling as well. 5 of the 7 worst records in the AL have come out of the AL East over that time frame.I can't believe the Yankees are still in first pace, they're terrible right now.
So do the Yankees sell next month? They may get a little something back from an NL team for Pineda (especially Pittsburgh where ex-Yankees go to flourish) and Brett Garnder, and to an even lesser extent Chase Headley.
This would free up room for Chance Adams, Dustin Fowler, and Tyler Wade.
I have no idea why they would sell. Just doesn't make sense. You don't sell when you have a chance to win the division. Unless the next month goes absolutely horrible like 7-19 over their next 26 games and are 6 GB out of 1st at the end of July.
Cashman has already said they won't break from the plan to make a run this year so becoming buyers is out, plus you can argue that if they make those trades as sellers they get better anyway.
