Surely you jest!

If the scouts/Douglas/and Schwartz like Foster enough, and all the other top prospects are not there, I have no issue with taking him. With some QBs probably moving into the top 15 (Trubinsky, Watson, etc.), some guys might fall to us.

Kiper's 3.0 has us taking Conley at 14.

Conley has the tools to be a shutdown guy ... but he's not a finished product. The scouting report up above is pretty good on his strengths and weaknesses.

I like Conley a lot - don't think it will be a stretch if we decide to take him at 14.

On drafting a running back, I've got to say it doesn't make sense for a few reasons. Running backs are generally one of the easiest positions to plug a rookie into and watch him excel. This team is at least a year away from having a legitimate title shot, but probably more than that. Why draft a guy that might not be a part of the team (or will command a significant salary) when Wentz and the rest of the team are going into their peak years?

I'm not opposed to taking a RB in the first round -- but I don't think it's wise to do when you've got so many other holes to fill and likely won't compete for a Super Bowl for at least 2-3 years. Do it in 2 years when the team is hopefully a good RB away from being a legitimate contender. In the mean time, bring in young, talented, undervalued RBs and see if one of them catches on. We have Smallwood already. Build off that until the rest of the team is put together.

FWIW, Mark Eckel said he's heard the Eagles will not be drafting a running back in Round 1 this year.

Well that means a RB is a lock because Eckel is wrong on everything.

His spider graph looked pretty solid.

McCaffery's Pro Day clips ... great feet quickness and sharp routes. Very impressive imo.

Conley had surprisingly good workouts. From an athletic standpoint he has first round tools for sure. I thought he would be a reach at 14 but maybe I am wrong, the more I look at it.

Smooth as hell. Man he's got quick feet. Soft, soft hands.

Wonder where he'd go just as a receiver?

Geez how many of those passes did he have to stop and wait for.

Ike Reese has been saying he is the guy we aught to draft at 14. The more I watch footage and learn about this kid the more I like what I see. Granted his bench was horrible but, he isn't a power back he is more like westbrook and will be making people miss vs plowing through them.

I'd say his floor is Danny Woodheadish so he'll be useful even if he doesn't develop into a 20 touch guy. And a better runner than reggie bush who went #2 overall from the same conference.

I would take Williams over McCaffrey... but I wouldn't cry over either. Nice weapons for Wentz.

My guess, we don't get either. Thinking it will be DT or CB, which is great for the long term of the franchise, but will not develop Wentz as well as I think we should make the priority at this point.

I agree. If Lattimore is out f reach, even with a trade up, then I would want the best WR we can get, even though, Rey, we have 2 good starters, they might not be here long term. Howie and Doug want a WR and RB to grow with Wentz for next ten years. We can add all defense after the first round. that's what I think.

There will be better players than McCaffrey available at 14.
