Just so you guys realize bench press is not a functional movement and by no means defines a person's upper body strength :pound:

That might be one of the worst combine assessments that still exist.

Point is... I don't want a 15 touch max guy with the 14th pick in the draft. Maybe in the 2nd but I have serious doubts about him. He won't be a feature back. He'd be an awesome side weapon on a team like Dallas or New England. I like Cook a million times more if we were to go RB.

All of this.
I like McCaffrey and his upside in the NFL. But it's not first round upside.

Looking at walter football on who the eagles have talked to I see only three cbs worthy of a 1st rd pick on the list and one we have no chance of getting. Interesting.

I think you will see a bunch of corners go in round one. But in my view, now that Sidney Jones is hurt, there are only two corners worth the 14th overall pick: Marshon Lattimore and Marlon Humphrey. I think both may be gone by the time we pick, in which case I would look to another position or trade down. Corner is arguably the deepest position in this draft and there will be players available in the second and third round who would be similar prospects to those that will go in the second half of the first round.

On OT, while there are no guys worthy of top 5-10 selections, there are several players we should look at with the 14th pick, including Ryan Ramczyk, Garett Bolles and Cam Robinson. These guys will start coming off the board right around our pick actually. I could see all these guys go in the first round, early second tops. They all have their pros and cons but they all look like starting NFL OTs.

There is a month and a half to go. I'm sure later round CB prospects will visit and that will tell more on intent for 14 pick. Trade up for one of those the three or not go CB at 14, but later. I'm not well enough up on the position to say what's best. But it's interesting.

Not for me, as we have the OL set for this year, and the crop of OT's is not good this year. Next year - absolutely! Even if Peters should go down with an injury, Lane will move over, and Big V takes over, or Barbre, or even Seumalo.

The NFL Network has us taking Tre'Davious White in the 1st, and Fabian Moreau the 2nd. I can go for that. Then we can look at DT, DE, LB, and RB in the succeeding rounds.

If White is your first round pick you're better off grabbing a DE, LB or DT. BPA is always better than grabbing a second tier guy based on need. Sidney Jones in the second seems like a better option.

I doubt we will take Jones in round 2, but maybe if we still have an extra 4th. I think White is better than most of us give credit for. You are probably correct though, and supposedly we will not draft for need, but take the BPA, and I'm good for that too. Fact is though, we do have to come out of this draft with at least 2 CB's, and ones who can actually play at a high level, even if we have to reach somewhat slightly over a positional player with a lightly higher grade than a CB, ala another guard, since we have 6 on our roster presently.

While I don't agree with WIZ about Sidney Jones in the second after he tore his achilles, I agree that a guy like White at 14 would be a reach. We can get a corner of similar caliber a round later. I would trade down, or go DE, RB, OT or some other position at 14 depending on the players available, before taking Tredavius White too early.

A guy I think we probably aren't discussing enough as a possibility at 14 is Taco Charlton of Michigan. He has prototype size for a 4-3 DE and may be there for us.

He very well be there for us, but he is inconsistent, at least that is his rap anyway. The only question is, is he the BPA?

I'm telling you... it's gonna be Alabama TE. Not saying I agree, but I just feel it.

I like Taco Charlton, but I don't think he will go in 1st round imo. He's a solid pass rusher and good speed.

Oh, I think he is a 1st rounder, just not a top 15 player, IMO.

Oh I would bet $20 that Taco Charlton goes first round, though maybe not until the 20s. He's a 6-6, 275-pound pass rusher. Pretty much prototype size, so someone will overlook the fact that he only produced last year and take him high.

Taco has 1st round tools, but a rep for a slow motor. He'll probably go 1st round, but I don't know about taking him with the 14th pick in the draft.

Don't think I would, but who knows how Douglas/Weidl have him rated? We do need a DT, and DE/EDGE this offseason, for certain.
