Maybe the season opener, But I doubt it at the end of the season after the Clemson game and watching #28 get continually exposed. I would have to think Darnold would carve him up like a Thanksgiving Turkey
It would be closer but Darnold ain't making up any more than 14 or so pts. Bama still wins by 3 scores.

Waste of time and money. Y'all had your chance and failed miserably. Maybe if everything works out this season, Bama will have the chance to stripe that ass in the Playoffs this time.
Yeah I guess Bama just doesn't like to play any home and home series on the West coast. That is their right.

Fair enough. I'm not going to change your opinion on how good Bama's or the SEC's defense was this year.

It was good enough to hold two of the 3 top ranked PAC offenses to a touchdown or less...perhaps the SEC defenses aren't nearly as overrated as the PAC offenses...just sayin.

We don't like to play a home and home anywhere, you guys aren't special. There is just more money in playing a neutral site game, nothing more to it than that.

Bama had a very good defense this year, at least good enough to beat two PAC 12 schools.

It's not as though Leach can't talk shit to the SEC teams anyhow, he brought a shitty Washington State team down to Auburn went wire to wire with the SEC champs.

Imagine if Leach was Alabama's OC.

Any chance Leach gets left at an airport after a game?

Or, he could always develop a serious drinking problem.

Would need to be one of the two for Bama to consider him for OC.

But, but Auburn is suppose to have one of those great SEC defenses.

If my coach is gonna talk shit I'd sure as hell hope it's not on account of a moral victory.

Exactly. If your best defense is a close loss, you've already lost your argument IMO.

That just might have been the case in the Bama loss to Clemson.

Auburn wasn't that great. OU beat them and Houston kicked our ass.

He was referring to the 2013 team that lost to FSU in the Championship game. Like their 2010 Championship team though, they were definitely offense first and defense as an after thought.

That just might have been the case in the Bama loss to Clemson.

Or it could be that Clemson's offense was firing on all cylinders and USC is still mediocre.

USC was no Clemson and Darnold is no Watson.

Furthermore, it wasn't Darnold who let Alabama score 52 points.

At any rate, I find the conversation funny given how much USC fans cry about '78.

That's flawed. Because of the lack of offense in the SEC, Alabama is able to inflate their efficiency. Washington State ranks higher than Alabama in every single category (OE, OAY, OVD, OFD, OTD, OTF, and OTO). However, because the SEC offenses lack quality quarterbacks and are pretty pathetic on offenses, it helps Alabama's OFEI because they're the tallest midget on offense compared to the other offenses the almighty SEC defenses are facing.

So, Washington St. was outperforming Alabama on offense, the difference was just that Alabama was playing defenses perceived to be stronger because of lack of quality offenses in their conference/on their schedule.

We have no way of knowing how a team like Washington State would've done in another conference. Just like we don't know how Alabama would've done in another conference. Numbers are used because it's the only way they can be compared. But, I can say with a straight face that if Alabama and Washington State had the same talent, and the same schedule then Washington State's offense would be the one more likely to score in any given situation.

If Washington St had the same talent pretty much highlights you're in a fantasy world looking for ways to justify a position you want to have, but can't actually support.

At any rate, the stats I linked to are adjusted for opponent difficulty and your argument has no basis in reality - before your talent excuse. Well no shit teams would be better if they had more talent, that doesn't mean they are better.

Then why didn't/hasn't Bama come out West and play in "Helton's back yard"?

Because you don't pay the same.

If USC wants to give all the profits to host Alabama, I'm guessing that would be ok.

So your team gets blasted by 46 points and your response is to cry because it wasn't a home and home?

Fucking USC fans.

Auburn has never been known for defenses, even though they've had a few decent ones. They are almost always offensively known and are kind of the anti-Alabama.
