So Mike Leach...How do you feel about those SEC offenses?

Not everyone has the players on defense that Saban does. You can have a play it safe score 17 points a game offense when you have a defense full of 5* future NFL players who score almost as much as your offense and hold the other team to well below their average.

SO you are hating on BAMA because they recruit better? It's not like their Oline and RBs have been going in the 1st round as well eh?

Leach would put you in a closet if he heard you say that.

My guess is I could distract him with some food and if that didn't work I'm pretty sure I could take his fat ass

I'm not the one bragging about how good my 3 loss team is after beating another 3 loss team from another conference that also got their shit pushed in during the playoffs.

We might has well have called the Rose Bowl the Runner-up From The Shittier Conferences Bowl

Both those teams finished ranked higher than any team from the SEC not named Bama. So these shit teams were way better than 95% of of the SEC. You're a Bama fan so props to having the best team but spare me your talk about other conferences when the SEC was mostly pure crap.

but I think it's more about over all talent than anything.
It is definitely about overall talent. It is a pretty safe bet that you can pick the national champions out of the top ten recruiting rankings from the 3-4 previous years. Someone with a lot better knowledge of recruiting rankings than me will have to tell us the last time a national champion came from someone outside the top of the recruiting rankings. The two Oregon teams are probably the only ones that got close...and they didn't win it.

I'm not hating on them. They are a great team. I just laugh when people talk about the poor SEC offenses and right away talk about Alabama like they are the conference and lets ignore that the rest of the conference was shit with crappy offenses for the most part. The truth is the SEC gets better defensive players. No doubt about that. But the offenses the majority of the SEC puts out there are pedestrian. Alabamas defense is so good they dont even need a dynamic offense.

SO you are saying you could take LSU? Or even A&M? When you barely beat Penn St in your own back yard? Now keep in mind how that Big 10 look at the end of the year.

I think Clem just won a natty with what is left over from the Chad Morris hire that Dabo made several years ago. And guess what type of offense Chad Morris brought to Clem from the Texas HS ranks?

Combine that offense with top talent like Clem can attract...and a natty is totally possible.

They finished ranked 3rd or 4th. So everyone would say so including Vegas who had USC in the top five around midway through the season. Vegas does like LSU but it still has USC over them.

Sorry you're not playing talent like you said on D in the SEC. LSU just stomped the #1 offense in the land in their bowl game. Granted Louisville fell towards the EOY. Anything can happen week to week with 19 year olds, but I don't see USC cracking the top 3 or 4 in the SEC West even this year.

Rankings are bullshit when you beat up on teams in a bad conference. Look at Penn St.

Washington rated as one of the highest offenses this season, and was the highest rated Pac12 offense.

They scored a total of 7 points against Alabama.

Coincidence?

Also, funny thing:

BCF Toys - 2016 OFEI Ratings

19. Alabama
20. Wazzu

Kiffin > Leach?

That's flawed. Because of the lack of offense in the SEC, Alabama is able to inflate their efficiency. Washington State ranks higher than Alabama in every single category (OE, OAY, OVD, OFD, OTD, OTF, and OTO). However, because the SEC offenses lack quality quarterbacks and are pretty pathetic on offenses, it helps Alabama's OFEI because they're the tallest midget on offense compared to the other offenses the almighty SEC defenses are facing.

So, Washington St. was outperforming Alabama on offense, the difference was just that Alabama was playing defenses perceived to be stronger because of lack of quality offenses in their conference/on their schedule.

We have no way of knowing how a team like Washington State would've done in another conference. Just like we don't know how Alabama would've done in another conference. Numbers are used because it's the only way they can be compared. But, I can say with a straight face that if Alabama and Washington State had the same talent, and the same schedule then Washington State's offense would be the one more likely to score in any given situation.

So no flaw in the lack of defense in the Pac 12?

Vegas power rankings are from who they think would be favored on a neutral field who the stronger team is. They dont care who they played. They just say whos the better team. You can hold your breath all you want and claim USC would be 3 or 4 in the SEC west but the facts are they would be favored over every team not named Bama and Clemson . So you can tell me LSU beat Louisville as some sort of measuring stick but theres a reason they are ranked out of the top ten and why Louisville is ranked in the 20s.
