Like I was saying in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge thread. Bama isn't a bottom 4 SEC team even though their record indicated that at the time. Good chance they finish .500 in league play, which honestly might be enough for them to win a game or 2 in the SECT and go to the NCAAT.

I don't see the sec getting more than five bids..... .500 isn't going to cut it imo

They have a really good resume for a bubble team:
RPI: 39
SOS: 14
Non Conf. SOS: 20
Vs Top 50: 4-5

An 18-12(9-9) finish would put them at an RPI of 57 and an SOS of 36. That would probably get them a 6/7/8 seed in the SEC tourney. Win the first game then they have one game against the 1/2/3 seed to get in IMO. At that point they would be 20-13 with a top 45 RPI and a top 25 SOS.

UK, TAM, USC and LSU IMO

LSU is close but I think the committee wants the best player in the nation in the tournament.

I can't wait.

UF has a MUCH better chance to make it than LSU IMO.

Even if LSU goes 5-2 down the stretch that will leave them at 20-11. RPI of 65 and SOS of 63. They'd need to definitely make the Semis of the SECT and possibly the finals.

That Non Conf. SOS of 211 is going to hurt LSU.

I agree with you on Florida, but the selection committee cares more about ratings than most deserving. Which is why a team like UK is almost always slotted against a rival like Indiana or Louisville in the 2nd round. If LSU goes 5-2, Ben Simmons will be in the Big Dance, book it

I definitely disagree with that. There has been so many times where the committee could have selected a "made for tv" game but failed to do so. Nothing more glaring than the year they had Indiana as a #7 seed and Texas Tech as a #10 seed and they didn't match them up together. It's almost as if they go out of there to avoid such match ups.

Bama wins @Florida. We've got as many quality wins as anyone in the SEC.

Huge road win by Bama. Bama still gets MSU, AU, and Arkansas at home. Should win all 3 of them which would get them to 9 wins in the SEC. Go 1-2 against LSU/UK/UGA and don't slip up in their first game of the SECT and they'll be dancing. Just a gigantic road win.

Serious question, why is LSU in everyones Tournament Bracket right now?? Their resume isn't that strong IMO, they played an awful OOC Schedule and IMO only have 2 quality wins. Is it because media darling Ben Simmons is on their team?? Bama's resume is much more deserving IMO but we are either barely in or First 4 out in a lot of peoples minds.

Well most bracketologists use the current standing leader as their "auto" bid. Up until they lost to South Carolina they were the leader for a week or so. As for now the only thing I can think of is that they are giving them the benefit of the doubt for having a good SEC record. 3-4 against the top 50 and 6-7 against the top 100 with a non conf sos of 211 doesn't scream at large bid IMO, at least right now. I'd have them in my FFO or NFO at the moment.

Lunardi's bracket is straight trash. Not only does he have LSU in but he has them as a 9 seed and that was before their win over aTm I think.
