The RB who fits our system the best and I feel we will have our eyes on is Utah RB Davontae Booker.

Just watched a couple of his games and I definitely see why you think that. He is very good that once he plants that foot in the ground he gets north with his runs. Throw in he has one of my favorite things in a RB in he is always falling forward when he gets tackled. So he is always getting that extra 2-3 yards per carry it seems. He also is a pretty decent receiver and I didn't hate his ability to block. Now I wish he had just a bit more wiggle as I see him going more for contact than trying to get around a guy but that is just a small thing. I just think his running style with his size could lead to some injuries in the pros.

I would say the guy today that took over that guy with the torn meniscus..looked pretty good today if anybody watched. :)

Yeah he would be extremely successful in our system IMO.

I'd love to see us address the return game. I'm not a big fan of Emmanuel Sanders back there. He's too valuable to the offense and I don't like the added injury risk. I would have loved to get a hold of Tyler Lockett this past April, but oh well. I haven't seen too many WRs that are predicted to return kicks at the next level this year, though.

And because it's never too early, I just read a mock draft that gave us...

1.30 - DE/DT Anthony Zettle, Penn State
2.60 - TE OJ Howard, Alabama
3.93 - C Max Tuerk, USC... not to be confused with Max Twerk, the famous chipendale.

Just can't get over why it's so important for some to have a guy that's a " dangerous " punt return guy. They fumble as well trying to live up to their status. Like I said before, rather have a guy like Sanders that handles the punt and knows when/ where, etc to field punt and just protect the football. Fair catch or let her go. No need to take chances. Yeah I know how sweet it to watch but bad things happen more often when they try to go the distance than when they don't. You don't risk injury to a top wr,etc if your smart about how you use him. Give me a guy with good hands and smarts over a guy that breaks one every 5 games or so but fumbled and cost you game any day. IMO of course

Well, obviously, the reward of a big play has to outweigh the chances of turning the ball over. Otherwise, we'd still have Trindon Holliday back there. But I love the idea of putting a weapon back there who will cause the punter to be off his game and try to angle punts to one side or the other (and shank them). We haven't had one like that in a while. Field position is huge, especially for a team like us who will be riding our defense and grooming (hopefully not for too long) a new QB.

Has this guy even SEEN the Denver defense this year?

However, nice to see he thinks we go to the AFC Championship game.

Why is it Mathis is the only guy on team that has major grass stains on his butt after games?

In the write up on Zettle, he said that Jackson and Wolfe are FAs after this year.

Mailk is a priority resigning unless he becomes the most sought after DT in the FA pool.

We definitely are going to need to draft a DE/DT early in the draft. I do think the Broncos will resign either Wolfe or Jackson. I'm hoping Jackson as I do think he offers more as an all-around DE and fits the system really well. At the same time because of the suspension earlier this year I'm not sure Wolfe is going to fetch a huge price tag but he has been probably one of our best 2-3 defensive players the last 3-4 weeks. Really for the Broncos it is hard to speculate what they are going to do. Let's say they do cut ties with Manning and Clady and open up a huge chunk of money then good chance they work to keep a good chunk of this defense together. Either of those guys stay though then it cuts into our funds and ability to keep those players and we have to go bargain shopping once again while hoping our draft picks work out.

Now I did see that the NFLMocks.com website writers had a mock draft of the 1st round and they had the Broncos move up and select Ezekiel Elliot. I had posted earlier I thought he would be somebody the Broncos would look at. After this season the only RB actually under contract is that of Juwann Thompson. CJ is a RFA so good chance we bring him back but we will need to add a playmaker at that position at some point. Elliot offers a very unique skill set with being a 3-down player that has both power and speed. He makes people miss and is a guy that has shown great leadership on the field. At the same time we are seeing int his league plenty of UDFA guys step up and do just fine at the RB position. The Broncos saw that with CJ last year and the Seahawks and Chiefs are seeing it this year. So I'm torn on that selection.

What do you think about bringing someone in (at rb) during free agency? my hope is they prioritize keeping the D together as best they can but Kubiak does run a rb friendly system, should be an attractive place to come play. Anyone you think might fit well in our system?

Honestly not that great of a RB FA class. Forte is getting up in age and price tag. Doug Martin is probably the best as he is really having a huge bounce back season but my guess is again out of our price range we would want to spend on the position. I will give you one name that I think could come pretty cheap and that is Alfred Morris. He worked very well in a ZBS and until this year has had over a thousand yards a season (going to have to have a ridiculous closing 6 games to make it this year). I think he could definitely fit well with us. To me part of his problem though is fumbles. It is why he has gotten less and less carries each year. If he can show he still has that same fight he did his first couple of years again I could definitely see Denver being one of his top choices for a landing spot.

Yeah I do agree trying to keep the defense together should be a huge priority. I don't think they will be able to keep everybody though. Right now for the Broncos on our defense we have Miller, Smith, Bruton, Wolfe, Jackson, Trevathan, and somewhat Marshall all hitting FA that have been big contributors. Marshall is a RFA so good chance we keep him. Miller will be priority #1. I can definitely see Bruton being another guy they work hard to keep with his leadership, special teams ability, and his underrated coverage skills on defense. Smith is most likely just a 1 year rental so he is gone in my opinion unless they sign him for really cheap. So that leaves Trevathan, Wolfe, and Jackson. In my opinion at best we can keep 2 of those players. Who do you keep?

Again hard to tell right now money wise what we are going to have. The team can go so many directions money wise. I mean if they really wanted they could cut Manning, Ware, Clady, and Talib with very little dead money opening up about $45 million in cap space. Now most likely Talib is here to stay for another year. I would say Ware is a safe bet too as the team won't want to lose too much leadership from the lockerroom in one off season. So good chance we have $29 million in cap space from the other 2 added to our $23.6 million we already have. That gives us $52.6 million in cap space. We will have 23 roster spaces open up though. Theoretically we will keep Todd Davis, Brandon Marshall, CJ Anderson, Brandon McManus, Matt Paradis, and Bennie Fowler who are all RFA's this next year. So that leaves 17 roster spots. 8 of those will go to draft picks leaving us with 9 spots open in my opinion that we will have to sign players for. When you figure in the price for those players we have $6 million for the draft and probably another $10 million for the RFA. That leaves us with $36.6 million in my estimation to spend on our FA's. Which that is plenty.

Sorry these are just my thoughts flowing. The team could go in completely a different direction than I am putting down here. I just think this is what they should and will do.

I still say QB should be taken in the first round if a Teddy Bridgewater ...types fall to us .. I still cannot believe we passed on him.. yes I get we got something pretty sweet all the same still you take the #1 prospect QB that late ...sorry I still get pissed every time I think what could of been !

IMO this Draft is all about LT , TE ,G, DE, NT...then stabs at 5th round on MLB, OLB'er ,RB WR.
