Remember when Calvin Ridley was the consensus choice amongst the analysts for our pick at 8th? LOL

Very good chance Pace trades down our 2nd to pickup a 3rd.

Nice pick for the Pack, didn't give up too much to move up to 18, and still have two 1st rounders next year. God I hate them.

Lol

We're almost to the point where he could fall to us in the 2nd. Not quite - but almost.

I've thought 39 is a tradeable spot for us. We'll have to see who's left. One thing that's a 'positive', depending how you look at it, is defensive players are coming off the board in droves, pushing back the O. I'm particularly curious as to whether or not there will be a run on offensive linemen, particularly guards or centers, in the back 3rd of this round.

No WRs taken so far. Dallas surprisingly didn't take one. This is getting interesting

Ragnow is an interesting pick for the Lions. Has a little bit of injury history, but nothing that would prevent him from stepping right up as their new center or somewhere else along the line due to his versatility. But I woulda bet the farm theat they'd go with a RB. Fascinating.

So far 1 RB and ZERO WR taken in the draft. Dayum!!! This may bode very well for Noon and others who thought we need to take a receiver with our 2nd pick.

FUUUUUCK

Nelson gone
Indy saved us. Why waste a top ten pick on a player who would really only affect the run game (and not even that much since our run game is our biggest strength)? I think they made a mistake at 6. I’m not saying Nelson won’t help protect Luck, but his difference in pass protection will be negligible. Smith is the real deal. When people look back at this draft, Smith will be one of the prized players that define the draft. Mark my words. Even if Nelson is the best guard ever, he won’t affect the game as much as Smith.

I was hoping Kirk would last until our second pick. It’s looking like Ridley might last to our second pick. I want to get some oline talent from our second pick, but if Ridley or Kirk are there, you almost have to pull the trigger.

Nonsense. A great lineman is much more important.

I know we were all enticed by the beastly upside in Edmunds, but I really think this is a solid, solid, solid pick. Smith is super fast, plays sideline to sideline effortlessly and has a tremendous knack for sniffing out the ball.
I liked Edmunds early on, but the more I hear about him, the more I think the guy is just going to be a project that never pans out.

I'll say it again. This analysis is just completely absurd. My goodness.

Moving on...

Okay, there goes Moore. Will the WR's start dropping?

I could see Baltimore going WR too.

I still disagree about the worth and value of Nelson, but I think you're onto something with Smith. His stock was steadily rising the past few weeks, as I'm thinking analysts started going over his gamefilm in greater detail. I'm really really REALLY happy that he's a Bear.

I live just outside of Detroit and the consensus is that RB isn't the issue with the run game. The line is horrendous in that department.

Yeah, I still don’t get the hype behind Nelson. Add a prime Steve Hutchinson to the team last year, and we still finish with a top ten pick. A great guard is nice to have, but at what cost? No matter how good that guard is, he won’t make or break the team. Taking a young defensive stud to lead the defense when Travathon leaves is much more significant for this team than a guy who if successful, will block one guy effectively on every offensive play.
