I think that window is open.

I think the window is just barely open for Kansas City but it would require Bennie Logan and KPassagnon to both step in and solidify that dline so the Chiefs would actually have a really good defense and not a 'bend but dont break' defense. Not something thats too terribly likely but not out of the picture, either.

Tennessee, Oakland, Baltimore, San Diego and maybe Miami are wildcards but they'd need some things breaking the right away. I think you'll probably see 2 contenders from that list once the season ends.

Denver and Cinci might be a year off from coming back but they could also be in the mix, too.

Still, Patriots should be better than what they were last year and probably going to be a 13-15 win team entering the playoffs.

I love that KC team, but their biggest problem now is that their best playmakers are all stretch the field home run hitting type guys, including kelce, and they have the anti-stretch the field QB......That continues to be their greatest issue......I see Dalton and Smith much the same.....Good enough to win you 10-11 games, 2 of the last guys i want leading me in January

If I used the 2015 NY Giants Defense to Predict the 2016 Season for the NY Gianys how would that have turned out?

Well, not so well, but some of their best 2016 defensive players werent on the 2015 roster....And their best defensive player, Landon Collins, made huge strides from 2015-16

KC would be dangerous if they got rid of smith.

I remember when 49er fans said that same thing... lol. Smith has limitations but dude wins. When KC loses in the playoffs it's because their D doesn't get it done ( generally speaking). Smith isn't elite but there aren't many of those guys running around

When you ask for the superb owl does that limit my choices to Rice or Temple?

Regardless of how not being able to get off the field and a weird holding call, Pittsburgh only scored 18 points. At home. Steelers had no business winning that game as far as I am concerned. Smith doesn't lose games but he won't go for the kill either.

That's true but you could say the ecact same thing about Reid. Point being that both guys are better than most anyone you can realistically replace them with so it's a tough situation. In his career Smith has played pretty well in the playoffs whether with KC or SF. That's just the truth

Reid called plays that had by my count 3 very easy TD's for an even marginally aggressive QB to make. Two to Hill and 1 to Maclin. Now if Reid whimsically backed Smith to back Smith- then I'd blame him. And to the latter point, I don't care. We are not Cleveland, we are not the Vikings, we are not the Bengals. I don't care for those teams. I only care about what is next. What is better.

Pats dominated a larger percentage of the game than the Falcons dominated. And that's quite a back track.
He knows he just can't admit it, he's dug too deep a hole. He knows Atlanta had abour 7 minutes of good football. A period in which the offense scored 14 points while the DEFENSE scored 7. He won't admit that when he was predicting the Falcons to and score 24 to 30 he was talking about the offense. If he could admit it, he'd have accept his most potent offense scored 21 points. Oh well we don't expect much from our fans from Atlanta anyway.

Nothing to run away from

Sure. New England was fundamentally more sound at the end of the day. #1 coach, top 3 QB, top scoring D. Really tough to beat that combination even on a good day and thats why I think they are the prohibitive favorite as new challengers need to emerge from the AFC pool.

The list of QBs that New England faced last year was embarrassing for the NFL imo. The modern game is pretty much based on the AFC having Brady, Peyton and one or two elite defenses every year. The AFC really needs to step up because its basically the NFL version of the NBA East where its one big star (Lebron/Brady) sleepwalking over everyone else.
It's embarrasing you refer to Brady as top 3?

There are only 3 teams in the NFC capable of scoring enough to bear Atlanta and who have a D capable of slowing them down a bit. GB, Dallas and Tampa. The other teams are window dressing. The SB participant from the NFC will be one of those 4 teams

You and Mrs. Chaney must be smoking the same shit.

The 1974 USC-Notre Dame game is a perfect example how Dominating almost half the game means NOTHING. Notre Dame Dominated for 28:50 Minutes, was winning 24-0 and lost 55-24.
I'm just disagreeing with SoxFan who's claiming NE outplayed ATL for at least 1/2 of the SB. The SB I watched I say ATL outplay NE for about 3/4 of the game.
