Probably the Bills ;)..

I am sure Kelly had a lot of offers undrafted calling him late in the draft.

His agent probably made it clear to Elway too that he had several offers forcing him to draft him if he really wanted him.

May teams call players late in the draft to feel them out for if they go undrafted.

I remember when I was helping Trumaine McBride. The Bears called him late asking if he would signed undrafted. He said I don't know i have a lot of teams calling me.. They hung up the phone

CURRENT SELECTION CHICAGO BEARS SELECT: TRUMAINE McBRIDE, CB, MISSISSIPPI

Article said his agent called and said Elway wanted to have him if he went undrafted... I wonder just how much interest there was, and if we decided to pull the trigger to eliminate the possibility of losing him.

I wonder who else wanted him.
Well if you listened to all the noise before he injured wrist in pro day, you would of heard that aside from his off field issues, quite a few said he was 2nd rd talent and some liked him better than the top 3 Qbs. I believe his immaturity and perceived ( deservedly so ) arrogance plus locker room leadership was less than desirable by many. Like DC said, for a 7th rd pk, what can it hurt. We should all be more concerned about top 4 picks panning out than Kelly. :)

Sometimes - you get a bigger bonus to sign - undrafted.

LOL- All players compare themselves to great players.

Every DB I interviews compares themself to an elite CB... Im the next Revis, or Champ Bailey or Charles Woodson, Richard Sherman etc.

It's good to be confident, no player is gonna say

I am the next Bubby Brister.

If Denver can't find a starting QB from these 3 then Elway should hang up his GM title which he may do anyways (life style choice).

Kelly plays like a fullback with a rocket for an arm.

Hate to say this but if Elway doesn't find his Qb out of this crop, and being in a very tough division ,the D getting overworked and older, this team could be headed to some playoff qualifying tough times Bronco fans. Not so sure Trevor or Lynch can be the guy. I'd start rooting for Kelly to get shit together and healthy. :)

In his defense, Bubby Brister does have more Super Bowl rings than Dan Marino....:2cents:

Well he didn't even work out this offseason. Not invited to combine, hurt wrist at pro day some tweets out there he needs surgery. Let's hold off on him competing for a starter spot, let's just start wit him making the team.

he better calm down that fullback mentality if he is going to last in the NFL. Already had a number of injuries and at 6'2" 215 he doesn't have the Tebow or Cam mold to sustain so many huge hits.

I won't lie, Kelly's tape is damn impressive to me. He has warts but if not for injury/off the field we are talking a day 2 guy at worst...

He did show NFL tight window throws, touch and back shoulder throws against the top SEC teams. There is no way he sits on the practice squad this year if he has his act together. Probably be a red shirt year for Chad. Uncle Jim should tell him to hunker down all year do not leave your apartment except to go to the Broncos facility.

My favorite skill of his is his pocket awareness and escapability. He has some Romo 'Houdini-like' escapes when the pocket is collapsing. After he escapes, he doesn't just tuck and run. He re-sets and looks for the receiver, then squares his feet and shoulders up to deliver a catchable ball. Really smooth in his release too. His tape got me a little too hyped.

He also - has some of the best footwork of any college QB - I've seen. Every throw aligns his body for maximum velocity. Impressed as well - that he doesn't throw every ball like a missile - he can throw with touch and he can also loft the ball to a streaking WR. He also miraculously - doesn't throw batted down passes. His only flaw -really is his gunslinger mentality - thinking he can throw it through any window for a completion.

I think he probably redshirts - this year on IR - unless - Siemain and Lynch stink it up.

Sloter is also - a very good prospect at QB.

Really? I charted a lot of batted passes myself. He has a quick and smooth delivery and doesn't really have wasted movement in his mechanics. He occasionally pats the football before winding up but only really happened on deep balls and didn't mess up his accuracy or anticipation. He can also throw it from inside a phone booth which is a trait that will help him a lot in the NFL. Kelly also shows good weight transfer and hip movement when he steps into his throws. He sometimes steps too forcefully w/ that lead foot of his which leads to some balance issues. This is an example of that over-striding and the ball ends up tipped on a good play by the DL.

Overall a few things to clean up but pretty darn good
