This Paxton guy aint too shabby. Good for him! At 28 it is now or never and i think he knows it too. Hope he remains healthy

All right so all we need is for every starter to go 7-9 innings of 0-1 run ball and we will win

takes bigger guys a little longer sometimes, i've noticed

not trying to directly compared paxton to him or anything, but randy johnson didn't really start pitching consistently well until he was 28+

Motter has been great... Its nice to see someone on this team take advantage of mistake pitches instead of using the Valencia approach: Pitch 1- take strike 1, pitch 2- take strike 2, pitch 3- swing at ball in dirt low and away.

If Motter keeps up, id like to see when Segura gets back have Motter at 1st over Valencia

This seems like a no brainer but you never know. Have to keep his bat in the lineup.

We still have Vogelbach as well since Valencia looks like absolute shit... another option anyway at first base.

And no surprise on Paxton. I've always thought he was a good pitcher, he's just injured it seems 24/7.

When Segura returns, hopefully we'll give him a shot at 1B at times to see how he'd do there...

The 21 scoreless IP from Paxton is very impressive considering two of those games have come against the Houston Astros... Both of those games against them were also w/in 5 days, which makes it more impressive...

not sure segura would be very happy if he were forced to play 1B with any regularity.

if motter keeps hitting and fielding well, then you have to keep him. that's for sure.

You almost have to make that play. Valencia is simply bad at the plate right now. My view has always been play the hot hand while its hot and right now that is Motter.

Another fantastic outing from Paxton. He's making a strong case as an early Cy Young candidate.

Going for the sweep today...

The one difference I see in Paxton is actually a non=pitching difference but a mental difference. I posted two years back that I hated the fact he sat alone during games with his head down and never following the action. He was emotionless. Now you see him engaged and even on the mound he was pumping the fist on K's. I really believe it makes a difference.

Agree. It is noticeable that he is now emotionally engaged. Before this season he seemed like a robot.
