Win or lose, the grasshoppers have been a hit. Between quirks, statues, and bobbleheads, I think M's could sell tickets even if they didn't play a baseball game...and most wouldn't even notice.

M's to limit sales of popular toasted grasshoppers

"We've sold roughly 18,000 grasshoppers," Hale said. "That's more than the restaurant [that runs the stand], Poquitos, sells in a year."

Starting with Friday night's game, the Mariners will limit sales to 312 orders per game in honor of the team's longtime great Edgar Martinez's career batting average (.312), Hale said.

#Mariners trade LHP Paul Fry to Baltimore for International Signing Slot #105. Fry was designated for assignment on April 11.

SEATTLE
The Mariners traded lefty reliever Paul Fry to Baltimore on Friday for $198,000 in international signing money for the period that runs through July 1.

The move came three days after Fry, 24, was designated for assignment to create space for infielder Mike Freeman on the 40-man roster. Freeman was then recalled from Tacoma to replace injured Jean Segura on the 25-man active roster.

Fry allowed four runs and six hits over two innings in his only appearance this season Tacoma. He compiled a 2.76 ERA in 150 minor-league outings over four previous seasons following his selection in the 17th round of the 2013 MLB Draft.

Gaining Baltimore’s slot value for pick No. 105 provides the Mariners with greater flexibility in the international market. Clubs that exceed their allotted pool money are subject to penalties, including a reduction in pool money in future years.

Zunino could probably hit the 1st pitch out of the stadium if he wanted to actually swing it at. Its almost always right down the middle and he takes it.

Damn Hanniger puts a charge into that ball and it just dies at the track. Typical Safeco.

Righty Casey Fien has accepted an assignment with the Mariners after clearing outright waivers, as Bob Dutton and TJ Cotterill of the Tacoma News Tribune report (Twitter links). Fien, who said it was an easy call to remain in the organization, was designated after a few rough outings. But the 33-year-old still has plenty of life to his fastball and was registering swings and misses, and he figures to be one of the first players up if a need rises.

and the 1-0 lead we got in the fourth easily vanishes in the 6th.

Not sure if Felix is feeling the inability to keep the lead or the batters just stop caring once they've scored anything...

Valencia sucks and Zunino still fail miserably with the bat. But that's not what I'm angry about... im angry with the fact that they followed one after another in the batting order. Such fail
