We wont give him 8, somebody else might. if he cant get 8, we would probably offer him somewhere between 5 and 6. and he can either suck it up and take it or wait and sign with someone else for the same amount.
They could make it work at this price if Okung is willing. The key would be to give him a long term deal with enough up front money to keep him happy. For example: a 5 year deal for $33 million with $15 million guaranteed. Then he gets the money upfront, the cap hit isn't horrible, and you can part ways in 3-4 years witout too much of a penalty if you have to.
The one reason why this might be possible is that Okung was quoted lately about how regardless of if he is a Seahawk or not, he remains committed to Seattle. He considers it his and his family's home, and his main residence remains in the Seattle area.
