Yeah, the Cavs do need help. They really seem off as of late. Got to think a big move is coming sooner rather than later.
Or get a young PG from via FA or trade. Bulls found Jerian Grant and MCW. Playing behind Kyrie everyday and guarding him in practice would make most PGs better.
its a great point. The Bulls didn't just "find" them -- they traded Snell for MCW and Grant was part of the Rose trade.
Cleveland doesn't really have assets to get someone like MCW.
Also, the Cavs don't know if a decent backup PG will be released at some point. (but risky to depend on that)

Apparently you didn't read where I said via FA or trade. Cavs have any picks to trade? Going all in on Mo Williams as a backup at 34 just screams out problem.
from what i understand their best asset- and what Atlanta actually wanted more than the 2019 first round pick- is a former late first rounder of the Cavs- Cedi Osman- who is stashed overseas. That is their best trade asset- but they really dont want to give him up as they think he can be a good-cheap developmental player that wants to come over to the NBA next season. They have had him stashed for a couple years and his value has been increasing.Cavs next first round pick is something like Y2021. And a second rounder from a good team doesn't get you much.
The best they have to offer is something like Liggins + a 2nd rounder -- which is what supposedly Sixers turned down for McConnell. (who is playing great) I don't think that would get much.
I don't think they can give up Frye -- Love is out -- that would leave TT as the only big. (rumors are they may sign a D-leaguer from Canton as a big)

They arent gonna give up someone like Osman- who they have under control for cheap for 3 years- for a vet. backup point guard who wont even likely play many postseason minutes.
they dont...they just dealt it to Atlanta- the 2019 first rounder for Korver.Cleveland can't trade the 2019 pick -- right ? (trivia question -- who's fault is that ?)
I screwed up an earlier post -- I think Cleveland does have a first rounder in 2019 -- they just can't trade it.

previously- they DID have a 2017 and 2019 first round pick....they dealt their 2017 pick to Portland to get their 2018 pick back- which opened them up to trade their 2019 pick- which they did to Atlanta
so they do have a 2018 first rounder, but they cant trade it becuase they have already dealt their 2019 pick, and you cant trade 1st rounders in consecutive years.
Talk about mortgaging the farm. If Lebron loses this year and leaves, he's going to really leave the Cavs organization in a brutal spot. Regardless they are in a tough spot.

Not enough allstars or playmakers on the Cavaliers. He needs more.
I don't understand how LeBron could possibly be upset with Gilbert. He has such deep pockets and does not care at all about spending.
What is really funny is that some on here claimed that the reason LeBron left Miami was Arison's failure to use a trade exception to get deeper into the luxury tax. Gilbert has time still, but he could be on the verge of doing the exact same thing this year.
I think Griffin is just waiting for the best deal. I'd expect something by the trading deadline -- he would be rolling the dice not to make a move by the trade deadline and depend upon a solid player being dropped.
I think they need another big just as much as a backup PG. They have bench guys who can play PG. After Frye -- they have zero big guys. (I wouldn't call James Jones a big guy.)
I think they need a couple of players -- not for the playoffs -- but to use up minutes in the regular season.
When it comes to his arguments with @tlance , his vendetta takes precedence over what's actually being debated.
Sometimes you just gotta.....
Do you not know what it means when you're on ignore? I don't think you do. Quoting T-Lance makes no sense because he can't see anything you're writing
That is the risk. But they have 1 championship -- so I think Cavs fans would say it is worth it. (even if some ugly losing seasons in future) If they get 1 more -- definitely worth it.
