I blame Banister for a lot of things. The moment Edwin Encarnacion hit that Home run in extra innings against the Orioles, I knew we were probably not going to advance. The banny rooster is such a dumb fuck. Did he pay attention to last year? These guys came back from down 2-0 and crushed the hopes and dreams of every Rangers fan. Their propensity to draw walks and get big hits is a terrible match up for a pitching staff who walks guys in a casual manner and is prone to the home run.

I remember it well. Last year, the Royals were limping into the playoffs. They were losing a lot of games at the end of the season after clinching the AL central. The blue Jays clinched the AL East and were firmly locked into the #2 seed with a good chance to catch the royals if they won some games. Gibbons took one look at things and decided he would rather play the Rangers then fight for the #1 overall seed. I kept monitoring the situation and hoping that the jays would pass the royals, but Gibbons put 3 triple A line ups out there against a bottom feeder and let them win to ensure the Jays didn't move up.

The playoffs are typically about who you play rather then where you play. Granted, home field is nice, but I guarantee you we would have performed much better against the Indians (who we usually beat) and the Red Sox ( who we play pretty even matched games with). You could also make the point that in a 7 game series, home field advantage isn't as important because there are more games. The underdog only needs to win 1 out of 4. Home field is much stronger in the Best of 5 format.

Rooster was in a similar situation to Gibbons last year. He made the stupid choice of getting home field instead of a matchup with a decent chance of success against either Boston or Cleveland. I apologize if I came across as a troll this past week, I was just trying to tell you guys to not get your hopes up so you wouldn't be as disappointed when things go awry.

NC pour yourself a glass of your favorite beverage even if that is sweet tea. Raise it for an exciting season.

Pitchers and catchers report to ST on or about 28 February. Good news Lucroy will be there from the beginning.

Only bright spot in this is no more noon weekday playoff games. This one still ticks me off

Good series guys.

I would have done the same on the other hand.

Hope this rivalry continues for years!!!

My GF is Canadian from Toronto (living in TX now) and she's a die hard Jays fan so I had to put up with her nonsense when Texas was stinking it up hah. I always did like the Jays and always knew it was a very solid and good fanbase. I would have never in our lifetimes thought there would be a rivalry like this brewing between the Jays and Rangers of all teams. Good luck in the next series and we shall meet again in 2017!

Sorry bro. But unless the Rangers address their pathetic defense up the middle (Andrus, Odor, and Desmond all below average defensive players), magically grow a couple starting pitchers somewhere in the Arizona desert, and properly retire Colby Lewis, release Derek Holland, leave Jake Diekman in Canada, and fire their galactically stupid manager, then we will all be mourning another total collapse next year by our Rangers.

Other than Beltre, this is a team full of mental midgets. And you can't fix that in one offseason.

And Banister, I'm talking to you, you can't fix stupid either.

Yeah you get the best record in the AL, home field advantage and you get relegated to the soap opera time slot. All because Boston and Big Poppie IS the media story. They are now down 0-2 and I hope the Tribe sweeps them.

And for some reason Chicago who played what 10 night home games all season gets both home games at night. Lol.

Yeah that stings but we have to win under any and all conditions.

Matt Bush had a hell of a stage for the world to see what he's got. Man he fucking blew me away tonight. Excited about him going forward. 5 game series are brutal, because in three short games your season can end.

And I am dead serious about firing Jeff Banister. You truly have to have a single digit IQ to bring Jake Diekman into this game. Seriously, he is dumber than a bunch of rocks.

If JD had any level of cajones he would sit Banister down tomorrow and fire his butt. THere is no possible freaking way the Texas Rangers will ever do ANYTHING in October with that ignoramus as our manager.

Mostly emotion in the above. The middle infield turned the most DPs in the AL this year. That last play was tough. If the review was not up against a celebration on the field it may have gone the other way.

Now SP you have a point and what was not addressed last year must be this year. Unfortunately it is going to hurt.

Yeah he was and is a beast. He gave us two chances to get ahead. Frankly he gave us three chances. He produced a DP ground ball. Even if it was just a force out, he had enough gas left to blow away the next batter.

Not sure if it took me getting a mortgage to put my life in perspective, but this is the most at peace I've ever been with a loss in the playoffs. It sucks, but getting fired or missing a house payment would be way worse. I'm glad I finally reached that point as a sports fan. I used to let shit like this mentally fuck me for weeks.

I said when he was pitching he was throwing too hard to get a DP ball. Sadly I ended up bring right.

Are you related to the Steinbrenner family?

I don't let it do that to me either. I take OU football losses a little harder at the moment but when it's over it's over. Don't take the division title for granted, guys.
