Let's cross that bridge when we get there. But they will get Beltran in the lineup and that means Gomez in CF and a liability in left.

It appears to me that the Red Sox and Indians don't want the #1 seed. Honestly, I'm not sure why we do. I'd rather play the Indians at home or on the road before the likely wild card team ( blue Jays). The Jays would have no fear coming to play us down here, they won both games in Arlington last year in the playoff series. Bad matchup.

Lol love your outlook. Too early to tell. The match ups will matter which means Beltran plays either way. Gomez seems to be doing well against RHP and his defense is top notch. Thinking Choo would sit.

I think if Choo is indeed healthy and capable of producing, Mazara sits. Choo is the much more disciplined hitter and much better at getting on base.

As for the bullpen, I think Diekman gets left off and Holland takes his place as either the long man or the lefty specialist. I'm no Holland fan, but I would trust him a lot more than Diekman. At least Holland doesn't ever forget where the strike zone is completely and walk the bases loaded.

They is real tough question. Wish Mitch would heat up. You have 4 OFs including Choo. No one can play 1B against LHP? Just too much a longshot. Gonna have to pinch hit a lot

C'mon man. It's posts like these which get you criticized so often. The Red Sox absolutely do want that #1 seed. They were pissed when the Yankees walked that off. They didn't lose on purpose. That's ridiculous.

And I think you've talked yourself too much into this whole #2 is better theory. What you're forgetting is that the #2 and #3 teams have to face each others' aces in Game 1. The #1 seed gets to face the Wild Card winner's #2.

It's not even guaranteed that the Rangers would face the Blue Jays. The Jays aren't even guaranteed of a Wild Card spot. They've had a bad September. It's still possible that Detroit and Baltimore take the 2 WC spots. And even if the Jays do get a WC spot, they might lose that game. The Indians are no slouch, even without Carrasco and Salazar. Kluber + Bauer with Miller in the pen isn't an easy win.

I noticed of Odor, Moreland, Maz and Gomez that Gomez was the only one to lay off the high pitch and he did that twice.

Not just high but right on the top of the zone. Those two pitches he took could have been called strikes but shows a change in discipline. He is also laying off the outside garbage too.

Just wish Desmond gets his groove going again.

I was penciling in him in for DH, but maybe Choo would be the DH. I was mainly wondering if they would go with Mazara over Desmond as he has hit better than Ian the last few weeks.

I would anticipate Choo being the DH. Big question to me is also the batting order. I liked Des approach lately but he sure has not been a good 2 the last month. I sure don't want to move Gomez to 8. He can be a 2 but Des when he is ion is a real good 2. Choo lead off hmmmm

Yeah that is what I thought too but seems way too farfetched. I think Choo is gonna DH to protect him and Beltran made a great play out there. He has OF instincts that help his speed regression
