I personally think the #2 seed is ideal for us. As long as the Red Sox get #1. The first round of the playoffs can often be seen as a crap shoot and playing the Red Sox in the first round would be very dicey because their offense can literally take over games. I think our rotation is deeper than the Red Sox and it would give us a decent chance to beat them in a 7 game series where depth is more important.

In addition, as the #2 seed we would likely get the Indians. The Indians are weakened because they have lost several really good pitchers. The #1 seed would draw the wild card team and the Blue Jays, Tigers, and Mariners look scarier than the tribe right now.

I wouldn't put too much stock in those results. Colby will get another start to show he's ready for the postseason.
