College football through week 4 now.

Was tempted to boycott my own yearly prospect thread since I have no idea what picks we even have next year... But I do recall possibly getting picks for losing Jenkins and McCleod. So Fisher/Rams are 2-1 and we all know what happens next. But this may be the first time in the history of making this thread, that it's come while we are over .500!

Last years draft seemed to be a bit weak on the offensive side of the ball. QBs were a big ?? some good RBs and the WRs/TEs are still a big ??? Oline seemed to be ok. Defense was filled with pretty good players.

2017 will be the year of the RB. You very well could see 2 RBs drafted in the top 12.

QBs.. DeShaun Watson, Clemson; Chad Kelly, Ole Miss; Brad Kaaya, Miami (jr); Seth Russell, Baylor; Wes Lunt, Illinois. Nothing really special here besides Watson and he is special. Lamar Jackson sweepstakes begin in 2018.

RBs.. Leonard Fournete, LSU and Dalvin Cook, FSU are cream of the crop RBs. But right behind them are Christian McCaffrey, Standford; Royce Freeman, Oregon; Jalen Hurd, Tennessee; Wayne Gallman, Clemson; and Nick Chubb, Georgia. Can you say loaded class? Elijah Hood, UNC & Marlon Mack, USF are no slouches either.

WRs.. JuJu, USC; Mike Williams, Clemson; Malachi Dupre, LSU headline this class. Some serious talent at the top and then it gets kinda boring. We will see who shoots up the list.

TEs.. At this point Jake Butt, Michigan; Bucky Hodges, Va Tech; OJ Howard, BAMA are getting the hype. Evan Engram, Ole Miss is a hybrid WR/TE with some game. WHo knows who will emerge out of this group.

O-line.. Pat Elfein, Center Ohio St sticks out. 2-3 OTs probably will go in 1st round and 1 OG as well. Pretty early, but we will see how this one progresses.

It will be interesting to see what picks we have and how the Rams wheel and deal them.

Defense coming later.

It's a homer pick, but one WR that has really surprised me has been Amba Etta-Tawo of Syracuse (graduate transfer from Maryland). He was just added to the Biletnikoff watch list, has 40-706-5 so far. Looks like he was an afterthought at Maryland that really wanted to play in new coach Dino Baber's uptempo system at Syracuse.

James Quick has looked pretty good catching passes from Lamar Jackson.

WR from Syracuse killed me last week in my college fantasy league. Lamar Jackson has 3-4 really good WRs - some freshman on that team. Ole Miss is loaded at WR too.

Shop.. do you know how many picks we have in 2017?

2017 NFL Draft: Los Angeles Rams' Picks

The Los Angeles Rams pulled off a megatrade with the Tennessee Titans in mid-April to secure the #1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft to be able to select their new franchise QB out of Cal, Jared Goff. In doing so, they not only shed all three of their Day 2 picks from this year's draft but also sold off some of their picks from the 2017 NFL Draft.

Here's what the Rams are holding for next year as of today:

Round Pick
2 Rams pick
3* Rams pick
4 Rams pick
5 Rams pick
6 Rams pick
7 Rams pick
* - If the Rams get a compensatory pick in the third round of the 2017 draft, the third-round pick sent to Tennessee will be the compensatory selection, not the standard third-round pick assigned to Los Angeles. If the Rams don’t get a third-round compensatory pick, the Titans get the Rams’ regular third-round pick, and the Titans seventh-round pick will go to L.A.

We should have a 3rd. The anticipated compensatory pick for Janoris Jenkins will go to Philly.

Don't you think we would get something for losing McLeod as well? Not sure it would be a third, but should be something good, hopefully...

I would think so too. If they base it on his 2015 performance with the Rams he had a very good year and it should be a 3rd. 4th at worst.

Not super impressed with this years crop of WRs.

QBs are pretty good and RBs are loaded this year.

Wonder what we end up getting for McLeod and Jenkins? We might get rewarded pretty good for losing those 2.

Not that it means much, but on First Pick currently those 2 centers and Ju-Ju are typically gone, and sometimes Johnson is too.

Johnson falling to us would be good. I have to think one of those centers will be there in the early 2nd round.

So we got a 3rd 4th and 6th? Man I figured we would get 2 3rds

Here's a chart from OverTheCap detailing those results:

Draft - Over the Cap

3rd for Jenkins
4th for McCleod
6th for Fairley (3rd to last compensatory pick awarded)

There are a TON of 3rd and 4th round compensatory picks; those regular day 3 draft picks received serious demotion in value as a result.
