Kind of ironically, I just got Bluetooth headphones too, and love them. I still prefer to have the 3.5mm jack though, it can serve other purposes, and Bluetooth headphones need to be charged, so having the wired option as backup is good.
yea, the need for my headphones to be charged is a pain in the ass! I wanted to listen to them while organizing the garage this weekend and they were fucking dead. Luckily I still have some wired headphones and the ability to use them with my phone. At this rate, everyhting I own needs to be charged for a successful job.

It's like giving up real books for a Kindle. I don't need to have a real book charged.

Eh. My wife will end up getting the S7 or S7 Edge in the next couple weeks.

I got a G5, because to hell with anyone that doesn't let me swap my battery.
Battery swapping is a thing of the past. I tried to fight it too, but I'd rather give in to that than be limited to one ligit option, I always use it as an excuse to upgrade when the battery craps out anyway.

Yep, I just ordered a multi usb brick because I'm sick of having to keep track and rotate between two chargers.

I like that my Turbo 2 has a slot for expandable memory. Not many phones have that anymore, especially not iPhones.

Not for me. Even with QuickCharge 3.0, I still find a reason to swap my battery frequently. And I keep the phone for the full 2 years of my contract. I don't want to have to hobble along with old batteries that can't hold their charge.

But then how is anyone going to hack your iCloud account and take all of your stuff?

I got one from a conference I went to this year. It's pretty nice, to be honest.

Don't get me wrong, it's a useful feature if you want to swap mid day, and I always wait it out until I'm eligible for an upgrade (except while verizon briefly had the edge program), and it can be a hobble to the end. I have given in and got the equipment insurance this go around (mainly because my wife NEEDS it), so I'm not too worried about future battery issues.

The s7, s7 edge, and note 7 are all waterproof

That'll come in handy when the fire dept. is hosing them down :dhd:

Just kidding, sorta.

I've always had droid based smart phones and I've not had any issues. While my S6 isn't water proof it isn't an issue. I would rather have one that can survive a fall from 10-20 feet.

Turbo 2 supposedly is, but I am not going to test it. I have dropped it a couple times and no damage outside of a dinged up corner.

I am in the apple biosphere and considered getting out a few times. No one else in my family (outside of my own house that is) has apple, they are all android. They all have different phones on different operating software. It's a cluster. When my wife or friend or coworker needs to know how to change something on their phone it is simple to tell them, or ask them. Try to do that with an Android. Nothing is the same, nothing is intuitive, and it's a pain in the ass to navigate their crap. I really did try to go to a Samsung galazy tab a couple of years ago. Thank god Amazon has a friendly return policy, because that thing was a piece of crap. Granted I was used to one thing and could learn, but nothing was where you would think it should be.

Plus I don't like having to deal with viruses and crap like that. So while Apple is perfect, no one is. But I can count on my Apple products to just work. I don't need special 3rd party apps and ancillary products in order to get my phone to talk with my ipad or with apple TV. Samsung has started to figure that whole "complete system" thing pretty well and actually has pulled ahead of Apple in terms of smart homes and TV's connecting with phones/tablets. But the rest of the android crap is just that...crap.

Interesting. That is not a problem for me. I have Chrome and Chromecast ($35) and it is easy as can be.

Understandable that you didn't like the transition to Droid as learning where everything is on a different operating system can be a pain in the ass.

I have been using the Otterbox Defender case for quite a while and it does exactly what they claim. Very rugged protection, but it makes an already large phone ginormous.

Yeah, that fire thing's some shit. I never Gare to be part of the first group to get a new device.

The best part about the waterproof aspect as far as every day use (maybe the 6s had this figured out too, the note 4 sure as hell didnt) is the screen doesn't free out if it gets water on it.

Apple is not any more intuitive than other phones, it is just different. If you have always had an iPhone than the Android does not make sense, but the reverse is true as well. My wife switched to an iPhone and when she has an issue I can no longer go in and fix it because nothing on that device makes sense to me.

In the end this release is what everyone thought it would be. A bunch of "Innovation" that other companies had already done, and an over priced non backwards compatible solution to all of the inconvenience they introduced.

Even then, Samsung figured out how to make a waterproof phone with all the standard ports AND a spot for expandable storage on top of it.

And Samsung wasn't the first to do that either, but they improved on previous waterproof devices. The obsession with "apple didn't invent that" from the fandroid boys is funny, but Apple does to well at improving on things.

The s7, s7 edge, and note 7 are all waterproof. And yeah about the s5. My wife had it and the waterproofing was garbage. The 7s are pretty for real though.

Guess they should have made the Note 7 fireproof, too.

Amazon basic has a nice one that I installed on both of our nightstands. You plug it into the wall or a USB (I use wall option) and has 4 5v ports. Now I can charge everything overnight.
