Zaire was 19-22 for 313 yards and 3 TD's against them last year. Could he do it again, or do we go with a guy who had a great rookie season in Kizer?

I actually have no idea. I think Kizer is a hell of an NFL prospect given his size, strength and arm. And Zaire has been really, really good in his limited action as well.

Too close to call. I think I'd almost lean towards Kizer, mostly because he stepped in and played at least as well as I think Zaire would have played. He simply has more experience. And while I don't think it was the best measure, Kizer just looked more poised during the Spring Game. I think Zaire feeling the pressure of the QB competition, tried to force it more.

I'd be interested to see how they come into camp, mentally and physically ready to go.

I hate to see players lose their spot due to injury but in this case Kizer is a Big NFL prospect and he just has command of the offense. Im very impressed with Kizer. Now I am a MZ fan and I think he can win a Heisman winner and be fun to watch. Kelly really has a tough choice to make because if ND loses a game and that QB has a bad game media will jump all over it.

I have no clue who should start. I think u stay with Kizer and after the year he gets drafted and then MZ is the starter next year.

I don't know what Kelly is going to do. Kizer had a great season, but Zaire's running ability really adds a dimension to the offense that Kizer doesn't have (I know that Kizer can run). We will have a good O line, but with all the new pieces, having a strong runner is a huge advantage, especially when the protection start to break down. Also, a running QB is always a threat to get injured, so I like the idea of two proven athletes in the position. So I guess my position is that I don't know what Kelly us going to do. (Didn't I already say that)

I do know that I would have liked to have Zaire running that last play against Clemson last year.

Ugh. I watched the replay on ESPN last night. So many missed opportunities in that game and it still came down to the last play. Also, we were extremely lucky several more turnovers didn't occur. It felt like Clemson was playing it safe a bit there toward the end, but I really hated that last play. There was no jump pass option? It just seemed to vanilla, slide to the right and find a crease. Zaire might have had more umph to punch it in, but there should have been a pass option out of that because everyone slid with him, would have liked to either seen a throwback pass or a jump pass over the top.

In my opinion I thought Kizer played very well and I would stick with him but I think both are very capable. That being said it will probably be Touchdown Tommy Rees.:pound:

Honestly, I'm pretty confident in both guys so I really don't care which one plays because I think they'll both do about the same. So who ever wins the job good for them and the other guy better be ready to come in because injuries do and likely will happen.

It's going to be Kizer. He had an unreal rookie season. He played really well on the road @Clemson and @Stanford, both were/are top 7 teams.

Not to be a smart ass, but I seem to recall that we lost those two games.

Clemson would be more so on the offense than the Stanford game. The Stanford loss was a clear lapse on defense, we all know that.

Edit: Kizer was 19/34 321 yard 2 TDs 1 INT, 60 rush yards 1 TD @Clemson. Not too bad at all

Especially, not in that weather. But I still think Zaire had a better shot of running the ball in on that last play. I think we see both of them getting playing time.

I agree Zaire is a better runner, but Kizer can really rip it out of the pocket, and also has the ability to bring it down and run, he can keep plays alive too.

I also agree that both see playing time. I'm not sure if I like playing 2 QBs, but it worked in 2012. Kizer starts and Zaire spells him every so often? I could deal with that. And it's not like when Zaire comes in, the defense can expect a run, because he can rip em too.

Speaking of the 2 QB system in 2012. My God is Zaire/Kizer grossly more talented than Golson/Rees.

Florida used the 2 QB attack well enough to win a national championship. Chris Leak as the starter and Tim Tebow came in when they got close to the end zone. I could see this going on here. (Especially the NC part)
