I didn't know you get respect from losing the super bowl.

That bothers you? Not every thing said about the Panthers is complimentary. Or is it because nobody talks about the Saints?

They lost Norman, but they addressed their big weakness at the same time with reliable, young, CB depth. Should be interesting to see how they do; but their coaching staff gives them the benefit of the doubt on defense, imo. They had a few games that were really just barnburners that really shouldn't have gotten to that point. They get Benjamin back which helps the depth equation on offense as well. I think they're well situated to contend for a bye out of the South again, imo.

Does the OP have penis envy?
Sure sounds like he does. I don't even feel the Panthers are talked about much. You hear a lot about the Broncos and their players coming and going, you hear about the Pats and Brady suspension, you hear about a lot of things. Guess losing Norman put them in the news some, but not necessarily in a good way. Guess we got a hater on our hands.

Is there one team out there that doesn't feel like they could rip through the schedule and win their division? All you have o do is listen to the Ryans up in Buffalo.......they won the off-season. Whatever the hell that means.

Rex even said to the local Buffalo media that he felt this Buffalo team is ready to challenge New England this year.
Or would you rather hear coaches and others say that they just plain suck and they totally screwed the draft. That would certainly sell tickets. I imagine the broadcasters like CBS and Fox would just do backflips.

If you don't like hearing it, kill the volume.

Perhaps we should start some Panther threads, just to validate OP views?:dhd:

Aside from Newton's butthurt-ness and a couple Panther pass catchers coming up short on a couple plays that could've made a difference in the game......or not. Why would the Panthers losing the SB get them disrespected? Re-signing Short is a mandatory imo, but I see no reason why they should drop off significantly from last year.

The CB depth really hurt them at times, imo. They had enough offense where it didn't matter at times, but some outings against the Giants and Saints later in the year for instance were really pretty unimpressive. They restocked inventory there, and that'll be the biggest factor determining if they get a bye or just get a 3 seed instead is my hunch.

And that's just it...........Benjamin. The schedule isn't the cream puff of last year. And it's not like he has Sherman's number. In fact look at the CBs that shut him down two years ago. It doesn't matter what the saints do, but legends will be legends and Brees is a legend. Cam's not gonna outdo what Brees has done in his tenure.

Well let's see how you feel if you lose to them again this year(which I doubt).

You really hate the Panthers I guess. Understandable I guess. Next to watching the Seahawks win, I like seeing the 49ers get stomped and they aren't even good anymore.

I didn't say this forum just reading The Score, seeing the NFL schedule comments, fantasy football comments on articles. They've become the latest trend team. What the saints once were.

Yeah, they let the Colts get back into a game they had no business getting back into as well. So I can see your point. I still think they'll be better of with Short than w/o.

And if the Panthers are being overexposed by the nat'l sports media, I'm not seeing it out here in Cali.

I would love for the Lions to lose a Super Bowl. Maybe then, people would start respecting us.
