Truex is on the pole
Forecast isn't promising for getting a race in today.
Can't move the race up no more than 15 minutes due to TV commitments.Seems like getting the race is fine. Finishing all 600 miles doesn't seems likely. They should probably move up the start time to 5 PM. Seems like starting at 9 PM the rain comes in

Hamlin is rated pretty much where he belongs.
i agree somewhat. I also think again this is the biggest problem with the Chase system today. You get 1 win, you're in, and sometimes i feel like some of these teams just put it on cruise control for rest of the "regular season". Obviously some drivers are different than others, but after the Daytona win, all they can do now is use rest of the regular schedule as one big test session. Obviously the more wins the Higher seed or whatever but i dont think that really matters much. There is no incentive to race hard once you've got a win. No reason to take chances at higher speed tracks and risk injury.
I really like Keselowskis idea of the regular season points leader getting a free pass into the 2nd round of the Chase. Of course, ive been calling for some form of reward for obtaining the most points for the first 26 races for years now, even if its monetary or something.
Exactly. Kyle Busch winning the championship last year was bullshit. He missed 1/4th of the season. A champion should be rewarded on consistency throughout the season, not just winning a race and getting a free ticket to the playoffs. If there's a Chase system, I liked the original the best. Top 10 are in. If you're not in the top 10, too bad, try again next year.
618 was original planned time. Not sure what time was the original planned green flag but I do see it has been moved up to 608 PM
To recap the race so far,
Martin Truex has the lead
That is all

easily this is one of the top 5-10 worst races of all time
i love how in 2002, Dodge was winning everything and Ford/Chevy started crying to Nascar about it......a few weeks later and they made Dodge change their nose
post COT, and Toyotas easily have an advantage over Chevy/Ford and.................nothing
