I love me some Joe Thomas, but if they're going to do the whole rebuild thing, might as well get something for the guy and hopefully he goes to a contender. He's still a very good player and a tremendous human on top of that. It's a shame cleveland could never get their shit together for him.
I've seen in more than one place a rumored trade with Seattle - Thomas for Seattle's 1st (26th) and 3rd (90). I'd love this trade, give the Browns 6 of the first 90 picks.

Buddy. I don't think this Browns brass will fuck up this time. They won this deal regardless what QB they get. They can fill holes and wheel and deal to make their roster better.

Hue Jackson is going to love Elliott.

I like this break down of the trade. Essentially the Eagles traded:

2 1st round picks
2 2nd round picks
1 3rd round pick
1 4th round pick
Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonzo to go from 13 to 2.

Well, when you put it like that, I love the trade. Got rid of dead weight garbage for a potential franchise QB.

Otherwise, the Eagles got anally destroyed for a player who may or may not develop. When they have a laundry list of needs that could've been addressed at 8 this year and top 10 next year.

It didn't show up in the win column much, but collectively that was a pretty good group. I think initially they wanted to keep the OL mostly intact. They probably didn't mind Schwartz leaving as much, but once Mack opted out, maybe they decided to go plan B and start from the ground up instead of the foundation (OL) up.

I'm sure he'd like to play on a contender much like Mack did....can't blame him.

He's more than deserving to go to a contender...just as long as it's not in the AFC North. :nono:

Kiko was a part of the trade to Miami to move from 13 to 8. So yes he is actually a part of this trade.

Now if you are talking when the Eagles traded McCoy for Kiko then I guess if we really want to take things further back then yes you are technically correct.

You don't, he was 27th overall.

My bad end of round 1. Drew Brees is the guy I was thinking of that is a great QB taken in round 2.

Even end of round 1 still shows the idea that you have to get up into that top group to get a great QB is flawed.

Sure, but if you think the guys at the top of a QB class are weak, that doesn't bode well for the guys ranked a round or two lower...

Bad trade for Philly. Too many holes to fill and now not enough top picks to replenish them and now just gave Cleveland another top 12 pick for next year.

I only did so since it was a 1 for 1 trade.

This to me though is the showing of just how hard it is to judge QB's in college these days. They mostly all come from spread systems that are rarely asked to read a defense and go through progressions. So you never know how a player will adjust to that added responsibility in the NFL. I mean I look at the QB's in this draft and all of them have shown promise at different times. Heck some of them have been mentioned as top-5 picks to then fall off. So there is plenty of talent at the QB position in this draft but a matter of can you get it consistently and how long do you have to wait to see if they develop?

I would love to have Joe Thomas as a Hawk but I don't think they have enough cap space to be able to do it. Plus they still need money to sign their own draft picks

As a fan I'm getting tired of waiting, they better hope they hit on this one, Kelly screwed everything to shitsville, Eagles fans are not the most patient fans around, they need to play this just right...

To me this was a bad decision by a first time coach as they usually have a shorter leash. He is tied to this kid and I would say he is given 2 seasons. If the QB isn't performing at a high level in year 2 he could be in some real trouble.

Haha good point. That might have been some of the worst in game coaching I have ever seen.
