Well, Keap wants out of SF and SF wants to get rid of him, two bargaining chips not working in their favor.
Yeah that is what is being said in the media. I just don't think Chip wants to get rid of Kap. Just my opinion.

Then why in hell is SG allowing Kap to speak to the Broncos? SF doesn't want that contract, that is another bargaining chip in Elways pocket.

Good question and it's one I can't answer. I have a question for you, if most people think Kap is a bad QB, then why does Denver want him?

Denver is trying to make sure they have at least an average QB for another SB run. If they get Kap he and Sanchez will battle for #1.

Kap played a great game against NE years ago when they had a solid team, Pats almost came back down 30 or something like that, final score was SF by 3 I think. That was a really good niners team, they were clicking.

A cynic would say desperation, the optimist would say that Kubiak and Kaep would be a "good fit" but what Kaep's flaws on film don't really lead me to believe he is a legit starter, period.

Wait a minute didn't you say that Kap was a terrible QB? Terrible is not average. Maybe I have you mixed up with someone else.

I think he's a bad QB, what matters is what Elway thinks. Again even Elway doesn't have to think he's great just if he might be better that Denver's current #2. Out of Kap or Sanchez one will be the starter one will be the backup.

Fair enough then Denver will have to give up either a 2/3/4 round draft pick and pay part of Kap's 11.9 million dollar salary for an average QB.

The Denver Broncos and the San Francisco 49ers have reportedly agreed to a trade involving Colin Kaepernick, reports Adam Schefter. However, the deal is contingent on Kaepernick agreeing to a restructured contract. The Broncos and Kaepernick are not close to a new deal.

The Broncos and Kaepernick are still talking in the hopes of getting a deal done. Kaepernick is set to have a $11.9 million base salary this year, a figure the Broncos do not want to pay. The Broncos want Kaepernick to take a 50 percent pay cut in 2016. Because of the disagreement between Kaepernick and the Broncos over a new contract, there is no guarantee a trade will be completed.

No word yet on what compensation the 49ers and Broncos have agreed to. However, Schefter reports it's likely a mid-round pick. Earlier today, it was reported that John Elway and Kaepernick had met to discuss a new contract. For more coverage of the Kaepernick trade, download the Chat Sports App!

The trade for Kaepernick is no longer dependent on the 49ers and Broncos agreeing to terms. It's now down to just the Broncos and Kaepernick. In any trade for Kaepernick, the Broncos will need to clear cap space. They have just under $2 million in space, and would likely cut or trade OT Ryan Clady to save nearly $10 million in space.

For most QBs to be successful, it's fifty percent the QB & fifty percent the situation. In Denver's situation, they don't need a good to great QB to be successful. They can have average QB play & still be dominate.

Kap has proven that he can lead a team with a dominate defense & a strong run game, to the SB. As long as Denver doesn't ask him to drop back & throw the 30+ times, they can win with Kap.

Denver would be silly to give up anything more than conditional 4th round pick.

Yeah, they'll "battle" for it. Kaep's trade cost and salary vs. Butt Fumble's.

They should just convert half or more of his salary for the upcoming season to a signing bonus (whichi spreads that bonus over the length of the new deal). Kaep still gets paid, Broncos get their cap space.

Sometimes it takes a change a scenery for a player to overcome their struggles. You should know that better than anyone given your current QB is Alex Smith. Smith was considered a bust in SF save for 1 1/2 years and yet since he's come to the Chiefs he's been a solid to sometimes above average QB for you guys.

Hell look at Carson Palmer, he looks like he's washed up in Oakland and yet goes to Arizona and turns back into an All-Pro QB.

I'm not saying Kaep is gonna light the world on fire if he comes to Denver but he obviously has talent. He may not be a top 10 QB in Denver but if he goes to Denver all they would ask him to do is be better than the 30th ranked QB play Denver had last year.

His descent started with Harbaugh, so scrap that. Using Tomsula is nothing but a scapegoat to the facts that make Kaepernick an average QB - poor pocket presence, spotty accuracy and a general lack of football IQ.

He was touted based on a half year of success.......trade this turd while he's worth something.

That was not what Ron Jaworski who watched tons of videos of Kaepernick said when he evaluated him in 2013.
Jaworski: Kaepernick could be one of best

"SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Niners quarterback Colin Kaepernick received high praise from ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski and managed to take it in stride.

"I truly believe Colin Kaepernick could be one of the greatest quarterbacks ever," Jaworski said Wednesday on ESPN. "I love his skill set. I think the sky's the limit."

And now we are going to pay Denver, the reigning champs, cash to take him?

Yeah I agree. I don't think Elway will give up a 2nd. Nevertheless, the Niners are in the drivers seat, as they can keep Kap and see if he can fit into Kelly's offense. You're right, if I were Elway I wouldn't give up a 2nd or 3rd. A 4th sounds about right.

I never liked Kelly and his offense. He was a bust in Philadelphia and he will be a bust here.
